Just a clarification re our membership. Those who contact us for membership, get automatically d to dvaita-mod[ a receive only list], and they are sent a survey form and told that they can be d to the main list where they can participate fully, if they send a specific further request-- in order to avoid even the appearance of unsolicited mail (spam), we do not anyone to our lists except on EXPLICIT request. I guess it is not too much to expect this minimal hardship of filling up the survey form. The original purpose of the list, back when we conceived it in 95 was to act as a discussion base to add quality content to the www.dvaita.org The only things we consider are those that improve the quality of the list. We were never set up to be, or intended to be, an answering service. For us, having good people, sincere and involved people, is more important than numerical strength. Our membership comes in 3 flavors: 1. Dvaita-mod: This is a receive-only version of the digest. 2. Full subscription for those who send the specific request form: This is further subdivided into the list, which sends individual postings, and the digest, which collects them and sends them out once a day or when the contents get to 40,000 bytes in size. 3. Dvata announce/notification list. rs are notified about our updates in www.dvaita.net and www.dvaita.org In all three cases specific request has to be sent to info Apart from this, there are those who bookmark the site and periodically check our www.dvaita.org/list > > Hence, I am posting the same here. In all probability the poster of the query and a majority of the members there may not even be in this list. Also,'potential followups' will spill all over and will not serve the purpose. > > You can listen to Uttaradimutt swamigala lecture on 'Gayatri > > Chintane' at http://www.uttaradimath.org/default.htm. Thanks for the pointer. Regards, Meera Tadipatri > Niranjan
