The Lunar Eclipse which is going to occur this Saturday the November 8th, will be visible almost all over world. Thus the people living in the USA can also observe Grahana Punyakala.

Time of visibility:

1) Eastern-Time USA

Time: {Sparsha} Start time – 6:32 PM

{Madhya} Middle period – 8:12 PM

{Moksha} End time – 10:04 PM

2) Mountain-Time USA

Time: {Sparsha} Start time – 4:32 PM

{Madhya} Middle period – 6:12 PM

{Moksha} End time – 8:04 PM

Summury of Guidelines for Observing GRAHANA :

The time from the beginning to the end of the eclipse is well-known as “GRAHANA PUNYAKAALA” in the Shastras. The Good deeds, Daana, Dharma, Chanting and Meditation done during the Punyakaala lead to great rewards {Anantha Phala}.

Everyone must take BATH {Snaana} at the Start{Sparsha} and End{Moksha} of the GRAHANA. Such Bath has the sacredness of Theertha SNANA since during that time Ganga and other Theertha Abhimani Devathas are present in water everywhere. The entire Earth{Bhumi} becomes extremely PAVITHRA, so avoid doing anything to pollute the soil.

It is important to observe fasting in Madi and doing Japa, Chanting Vishnusahasranaama and other Mantras.

GRAHANA DOSHA : Since this Lunar Eclipse is occurring entirely in Mesha Raashi in Bharani Nakshatra, those belonging to the Mesha, Vrishabha, Kanya and Vrischika Rashi have Dosha (need to do sevas). As a solution to this DoSha , Dana of RICE, Toor Daal, Jaggary is suggested, in addition to Chanting Vishnusahasranama and Navagraha sthothra, performing Navagraha Pooja or Homa to your best ability.
