“Achara Vichara - The Monthly Spiritual Magazine in

English”

“Aachara Vichara” is a monthly Kannada publication,

published under the

guidance of Shri Vishwa Prasanna Theertha Swamiji, the

junior pontiff of

Shri Pejawar Mutt, Udupi. It is Swamiji’s desire to

reach out to the youth

of our society to guide them in the right perspective,

with regard to our

religion and philosophy.

There is a general misconception regarding our

traditions and sampradayas.

Things are either perceived at the material level,

totally denying the need

for traditions and customs. There are others, who

dwell only on

spirituality and follow age old customs blindly, out

of fear of the

unknown, and without much reasoning. Therefore it is

the desire of Shri

Swamiji to bring about an awakening among the youth to

strike a balance

between the two extremes. This is an attempt on these

lines where articles

pertaining to both ‘aachara’ as well as ‘vichaara’

will be published. In

order to have wider circulation of the magazine an

attempt is being made to

have it published in English. The articles appearing

in the magazine will

be a translation of the articles written by well known

scholars in the

Kannada edition.

The first issue has been released at Udupi on 7th Nov

2003 by His Holiness

Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji a trial copy. Further

publication will

depend on the response received. We would like you to

fill up the

subscription form send it to any one of the addresses

given bellow along

with the M.O. or D.D. We would also like you to

introduce more members. The

postage charges are added initially. We are making an

attempt to get the

postal concession rates. Till then kindly bear with us

for the same.

The regular issues will start from the March Month of

2004 (Madhwanavami)

Questions are welcome from the readers regarding

religion and philosophy

which will be answered by learned scholars. We look

forward to active

interaction from our readers.

Shri Swamiji’s effort is commendable which will create

an awareness among

our youth and surely benefit future generations and

help in the healthy

growth of our society. Let each one of us join hands

in this noble venture

of Shri Swamiji and make it a success.
