Dear Haribhaktas,

Here's the report on Gita Jayanthi held in the

SF Bay area hosted by Smt. Veena & Shri Sateesh Jamakhandi.

SVBM/VMS

==============================================================

Dear Haribhaktas,

With the grace of Sri Hari, Vayu and Gurugalu we had the good fortune of hosting

the Sri Geeta

Jayanti, Sri Datta Jayanti and Sri Hanumadruta at our place. Although it was a

cloudy/rainy/gloomy

day outside, there was no dearth of overwhelming enthusiasm amongst our SVBM

members inside. The

day's highlight was the presence of our respected Sri Gururajachar, who is

visiting Bay Area and

was glad to accept our invitation to enlighten us with his spiritual discourses.

The morning sthotra pathana included Sri Venkatesh Stotra, Sri Vishnu Sahasra

Nama, Sri Hari Vayu

Sthuti, Sri Sumadhva Vijaya (partial), Sri BhagavadGita (15th Chapter), Sri

Raghavendra Sthotra,

Sri Vijayarayara Kavacha and Taratamyokta sthotras. The sthotra pathana was

followed by a short

discourse on Sri Dattatreya Avatara of Sri Hari and a edifying discourse on

Sundara Kanda where

Sri Gururajachaar explained the leela of our Sri Vayudevaru by providing the

cross references of

Valmiki Ramayana. The discourses took us to a different world and we were

reminded of what’s next

by the smell of North Karnataka Style lunch prepared by Smt. VEENA, with the

help of some members.

Earlier than expected, we finished the second pankthi around 3.30 pm and we were

glad to see

everyone, part of the extended taratamyokta Bhajane with special emphasis on the

Sri Hari and

Vayudevara songs. This was followed by HarivaNa Seve until around 6.30 pm.

After a short coffee break, the evening discourse on Sri BhagavadGeeta was a

very informative,

presented with lot of devotion to quench the spiritual thirst of the members and

covered the

entire breadth of the great epic. Sri Gururajaachar was able to pick the best of

shlokas from

different chapters and it was a treat for all of us to have had this opportunity

to hear him. I

take this opportunity to thank Sri Gururajachar on behalf of all our SVBM/VMS

members for

providing us the feast of Jynana through his discourses.

We are truly indebted to all the members who provided the help which made the

whole function a

truly memorable one. We pray Sri Hari, Vayu and Gurugalu to bless us with more

satsangas of this

kind.

In Sri Hari Seva….
