Dear TatvavAdis,

Namaste.

This is in response to Kannada article published in PrajAvANI daily

at

http://www.prajavani.net/jan122004/edib.asp

It is indeed a self-defeating on the part of the author,

Ko.Chennabasappa (an anti-Brahmin LingAyat, I guess) of that article

on following counts ;

1. First of all, the author fails to distinguish the difference

between ontological character of jIva-s and the cast order of gross

world. It is well evident from the article that author has thoroughly

mixed up the two notions.

The very article proves the fact that Sri Madhva never took the

position that dalits are tamOyogyas. The author, in fact, in the

effort of proving the allegations (made by Tejashwi), he is

unknowingly disproving the very claim !

2. In spite of his effort in going at lengths in quoting Dr.P.

Nagaraja Rao's book and highlighting the point about Geetha 14.18,

the authors utterly fails to note the point that , the very basic

classification of jIva-s are of Geetha's and not of Sri Madhva per

se. He fails to note that Madhva system is providing the Geetha

quote in support of its tenets and fails to differentiate the tenets

and support. On the same token, it seems, author does not have any

problem/issue with anyone who can hold socialistic positions

like 'all are equal' in spite of Shastras indicates otherway. Of

course, it has become epidemic in so called socialists, that they

want best of both worlds; the appeal of socialism on one hand and the

universal acceptance of Vedas on the other. This may be the reason

why doctrine of Advaita is more appealing to masses, who hardly care

for the truth. It reminds me the age old proverb 'na bruyAth sattyam

appriyam' !

The utility of the article, if at all there is one, is in favor of us

and reminds me Sri Vadiraja-ru's famous whit " The measure of

swordsmanship is slaying one's enemy with his own sword " .

Regards,

Srinivas Kotekal
