Mantralaya Math accepts junior seer's resignation

The controversy over the resignation of the junior seer of Sri

Raghavendraswamy Math of Mantralaya, Sri Suvidyendratheertha Swamy has

ended with the senior seer, Sri Sushameendratheertha Sripadagalavaru

finally accepting his resignation.

 

" I have accepted the junior seer's resignation. I will consult the legal

advisors of the mutt and also those in the legal division of the math about

the appointment of his successor. However, at least for five years, It may

not be possible to appoint a successor, " the senior seer said.

 

Disclosing this to Deccan Herald after a 'closed-door' meeting with Sri

Visveshatheertha Swamiji of Udupi Pejawar Math at Sri Raghavendraswamy

Temple premises here on Sunday evening, the senior seer said, " I met the

junior seer after his accident near Chitradurga in April. I felt very sad

about what happened to him. I had told him not to travel in the night. "

 

Describing the junior seer as an eminent scholar, the senior seer said,

" Suvidyendratheertha Swamy is important to the Mantralaya math. His

services to the mutt are always necessary even though he has resigned as

the Uttaradhikari. " The senior seer further disclosed that the Mantralaya

Math has decided to utilise the scholarly expertise of the junior seer, who

is known for his enlightening discourses.

 

" We are building a centre at Bangalore for the junior seer to continue his

religious activities and spread the ideology of the religion, " the senior

seer informed.

 

Pejawar Seer's reaction

The Pejawar Seer, who held talks with the senior seer of Mantralaya Math,

refused to disclose the details of his meeting. He, however, said: " The

relationship between Pejawar Math and Mantralaya Math is very good. "
