Many fortunate devotees got to attend his lectures and benefited by his discourses. Dr.Aralumalige Parthasarathy lectured in Austin, Houston, Lubbock, Dallas and San Antonio in a span of hectic ten days. Some of the details of his tour are given below : -------------- Thursday Mar 4, 2005, Discourse on Dasa Sahitya at the residence of Ajaya and Anita Durg, Austin --------------- His lecture covered grand lineage of Dasa Sahitya. His exposition on the life of Sri Purandara Dasaru was very touching. Attendees were thrilled to learn about the vivid, lucid, devotion filled gems of dasa sahitya. Dr. Parthasarathy concluded the talk with explanation of " Halli Nungitu " and also later " muLLu koneya mele mUru kereya kaTTi.. " on request from the attendees. His vast knowledge and painstaking work on dasa sahitya was well appreciated by the attendees. -------------- Friday Mar 5, 2005 - 7.30PM - 9.30PM - Manju and Tejashri Shamanna's Residence, Austin --------------- This talk was organized by the Austin Kannada Sangha. Dr. Parthasarathy talked on " Karnataka samskrutika parampare " and covered 2000+ year history of stalwarts from Karnataka. The lecture was entertaining, informative and electrifying. The audience was delighted to learn about the inspiring leaders and the ever lasting contributions that they have made. There is a lot that the rest of the world can learn from these matchless contributions. ----------------------- Saturday Mar 6 - Tuesday Mar 9, 2005 Houston ------------------------- Day 1 - Srimad BhAgavata Pravachana (Sri Rama and Geetha Rao's)- The lecture about the circumstances in which original Bhagvata was narrated by Sri Shuka muni to Parikshita Raja was simply delightful and quite gripping. He covered events up to Gajendra moksha. His explanations on gnyaana mudra and abhaya hasta were quite enlightening. In the evening Dr. Parthasarathy talked to Houston Kannada vrunda about Karnataka samskrutika parampare. Day -2 Lecture on Sri Madhwacharya's Dwaita philosophy at Meenakshi Temple. Dr. Pathasarathy rendered masterly exposition of major concepts of dwaita philosophy. His lecture stands as the first lecture focused entirely on Dwaita philosophy, delivered in the Meenakshi temple. Srimad BhAgavata Pravachana 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm(Sri Satyendra and Jayashree's residence)- The program began with the recital of Narayana sukta. The pravachana was again enlightening with Dr. Parthasarathy's entertaining as well as gripping description of the story of JaDa bharatha. Day 3- Srimad BhAgavata Pravachana 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm(Sri Vellore and Geetha Sunder's residence) Day 4 - Srimad BhAgavata Pravachana 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm(Sri JV and Girija Achar's residence) -------------------------------- Friday Mar 11 Lubbock -------------------------------- Dr. Parathasarathy lectured on the " learnings from nature " based on the Avadhuta story in Bhagavata. The lecture was hosted by Dr.Guruprasad. Dr. Parthasarathy's visit helped bring several Madhvas together at Lubbock for the first time and lay foundation for a new VMS branch! ------------------------- Saturday Mar 12 - Dallas --------------------------- Dr. Parthasarathy lecture on the " learnings from nature " at the Dallas Hindu Temple and a major lecture on Bhakthiyoga and dasa sahithya at Sri Ravi Kulakarni's residence were very well received. -------------------- Sunday Mar 13- San Antonio ----------------------- Dr.Kashinath and Smt.Uma hosted Dr. Parthasarathy's lecture on behalf of Kannada Sangha, San Antonio. The topic was " Karnataka Samskruti mattu sangeeta prapanchada rasa prasangagaLu " . In a two and half hour talk, Dr. Parthasarathy provided a vivid picture of the inspiring history of stalwarts from Karnataka in the first part of the talk and talked at length on the biographies of several Karnataka(Carnatic) music composers during the second part of the talk. Dr.Parthasarathy also rendered a few kritis in melodious raga. Dr.Parthasarathy's knowledge of literature, history, music, masterly and gripping style of inspiring and electrifying the audience are quite remarkable and were well appreciated through out his tour of Texas. VMS-TX and the Kannada audiences across Texas enjoyed the discourses and are indebted to him for bringing the nectar of Dasa Sahitya, Bhagavata, Indian/Karnataka Heritage and Culture to Texas.
