Please take immediate action to support the efforts of The Vedic Foundation and Hindu Education Foundation to have a respectful and accurate view of Hinduism in the 6th grade textbooks

in California.

A quiet battle has begun to reform the grade school textbooks that our children and countless other children use to learn about Hinduism and India. The texts currently in use in the public school system throughout the US teach derogatory and disrespectful concepts about Hinduism that demean the greatness of our faith.

The California Department of Education’s textbook adoption process is at a critical juncture. Decisions are being made at this very moment to either use outdated and prejudicial content or to accept correct, current and truthful descriptions of Hinduism. The corrections submitted by The Vedic Foundation and other Hindu groups are supported by scholars, interfaith clergy, community leaders and individuals such as you.
