Guest guest
I have been thinking of this for some time now and even asked someone while in India but did not get an answer that convinced me. The question is this why did Sri Madhvacharya divide the madhva community into so many segments, there are the 8 mutts in Udipi which worship Lord Krishna that was installed by Madhvacharya himself. Then there are 3 or 4 (sorry for my ignorance on this) such as the Uttaradi mutt, etc. It also looks like these mutts have their own main diety. I feel that by doing this the whole community has been divided; I think a united community would have been stronger then a divided one for example consider Christians there are two broad categories (I think) Catholics and Protestants and they represent a strong group and the same applies with Muslims as well. I feel that the Hindu community in general is the one that is completely divided into many different sects and each one in turn end up fighting with each other as opinions, ideas, etc differ. See what is happening to the country politicians are utilizing this division among us to benefit them by bringing reservations and other such things. Sorry my intent is not political but to understand the basic premise of such division. Thanks Srikanth
