Dear Sri Hari Bhaktas,

 

By the grace of Sri Hari, Vayu, Gurugalu, we are celebrating Sri Jayatheertha aradhane in our home in Allentown on 15 July (Sat). This is the 8th year of the aradhane in Allentown. As in the previous years, there will be devarapooje, aradhane and hastodaka to Sri Jayatheertharu, alankaara pankti, theertha prasada to all (chaathurmaasa vratha preparations), lectures by scholars and sathsangha with pious devotees. There will be a devaranaama concert by Sri Madhav Gudi, the primary deciple of Sri Bhimsen Joshi in the evening, followed by dinner. All are welcome.

Accommodation will be provided for out of town devotees on both Friday, Jul 14 and Saturday July 15. For out of town devotees arriving on Friday, Jul 14, please let us know the head count and the approximate arrival time in Allentown and we will keep the dinner ready in our home.

Please note that due to chaathurmaasa austerities, fruites (including mangoes), any dry fruites and cocunuts are not offered as naivedya to our Lord. Only kallu sakkare (sugar candy) and cooked vratha items prepared in madi are offered as naivedya to our Lord and hastodaka to Sri Jayatheertharu. Flowers for the devarapooje and aradhane are welcome.

1-3 pm, Theertha prasaada (lunch)

3:30-5:30 pm, Lectures, " Ikkya niraasa in Sriman Nyayasudha " by Sri Yogeendra Bhat, " Isaavaashya Upanishat " by Sri Harish Baipaadithaya, " Vibuti roopas of the Lord in Bhagavat Gita " by Sri Kesava Rao Tadipatri, " Yeduraarai guruve samanaarai - a song by Sri Vyasathirtha on Sri Jayatheertha " by Sri Hunsur Sriprasad

6-9 pm, Haridaasa devaranaama concert by Sri Madhav Gudi visiting from India (currently we are looking for a harmonium player for this Hindustaani style music concert, please let me know if you know a harmonium player in New Jersey, New York etc)

9 pm, Mangalaarathi followed by dinner

Driving Directions

From east/west

In I-78 west take exit 54A, in I-78 east take exit 54, Hamilton Blvd and in the exit ramp take route 222 south (Hamilton Blvd south)

Go past a couple of traffic lights and make left turn in to Brookside road (Hunan Spring Chinese restaurent in this intersection)

Go past first traffic light at East Texas road and then the 2nd traffic light at Lower Macungie road

After 0.4 mile from Lower Macungie intersection, turn left in to Princeton road (no traffic light here) in the Dan Field Run development

House is on the right after the intersection of Yale street

 

From north/south

In I-476, take Lehigh Valley exit 56. Pay toll. Proceed towards Allentown and take the first exit route 309 south

In route 309 south, take Hamilton Blvd exit and proceed as given above.
