37th pontiff in the Sri Vyasarayar mutt, (1940-1969)

 

Poorvashra Name Narasimhachaarya. He was a noted Vakil in the Mysore

City.

He was the son of Poorvashram Sri Vidhya Rathnakara Theertharu., he

was a

poet, dramatist and wrote many kannada plays.

He was a great Vidwamsa and poet, composed hundreds of devaranama,

under the

ankita, " Prasanna " Looked after Samsthana, worshipped Venugopala Devaru

for

29 years and gave ashram to Sri Vidya Payonidhi thirtha.

 

He was a good Badminton player in his PooRvashram days. The

Compiler’s

father used to play with him.

 

He has written many kannada dramas of which " Jihya Chaapalya OR

ChAmannana

Chiroti " is a humorous play staged at many places.

' Hoo Beke Hoo ParimaLadha, Parama purusha namma KrishNana thotadha '

is a

popular keeRthana, sung in raaga Shanmukhapriya..

 

He was an advocate in the premonastic period. He was born at Tekkalur

near

Coimbatore and practiced as an advocate at Dharapuram. He has

composed a

number of Devarunamas notable among which is the one on Namagiri Amma

of

Namakkal.When Sri Vidya payonidhi teertha was at Mantralayam, The

Mantralam

swamiji asked him why he was there as his services were required at

Sosale.

[The Mantralayam swamiji could predict his sanyashram and did not

disclose

to him as such.]

 

Sri Sri Vidyapyonidhi Theertha was his successor.
