Hari sarvothama, Vayu Jeevothama

Sri Gurubhyo namahaSource: Sri Sode Vadiraja Matha by Sri Gowdagere Vijaya Kumar Acharya and SOME (verses) of the second translation by Sri Vasu Murthy of Washington DC, posted in (VMS) list during November 5th 1999 time period. Note:It is said that the regular pArAyaNa of this stotra gives greatspiritual and material wealth. This stotra is said to be a condensedversion of sri lakshmi hRudhaya and nArAyaNa hRudhaya which is read andused in worship to achieve spiritual and material wealth.shrIshrIshaguNadarpaNastotram.hyA sugandhAsyanAsAdinavadvArA.akhilena yA |durAdharshhA sarvasasyodayArthaM yA karIshhiNI || 1|| Goddess Lakshmi has heavenly perfume in all the nine openings herdivine body such as nose etc. She is beyond the world consisting ofchetana and achetana things. OR The beloved of Madhava, Mother Lakshmi -- my salutations to thee. You & Madhava are the parents of the world & everlastingly inseparable.samanA kila mAtastvamamunA tatayoginI |mama nAthena devashcha vimanAshcha na sa tvayi || 4|| Mother! You are present in all space and time along with my Lord ( SriHari). This is why you are called samanA. My Lord will never get angrywith you. Or Oh Mother, you are present at all places & ages with my Lord Sri Hari & hence YOU are 'samana' (equal). tvaM vedamAninI vedavedyaH kila sa te priyaH |tvaM mUlaprakR^itirdevI sa chAdipurushhaH kila || 5|| You are the Godess associated (abhimAni devAtha) with vedas. Yourloving Lord can be known by vedas. You are the origin for all matter(mUla prakRuthi) and He is the origin of all men. OR You are the pride of vedas. Your beloved Sri Hari is the supreme Lord & giver of the vedas. Her lipsare like the "thonDe" fruit (Fruit is called "thonDe haNNu" in kannada.Icouldn't find a proper English equivalent. If anybody knows the correctEnglish name, please post it to the list). The four headed Brahma & other gods sing praises to her. The four vedas too praise Her. She is the beloved of Lord Sri Hari who has four forms such as Vasudeva. Such a one, I salute & bow to You in reverence. OR Sri mahAlakshmi has four braids in her hair. She is worshipped by fourfaced brahma and other gods. Four vedAs extoll her qualities. She isvery dear to sri Hari who has four forms named (vAsudeva, samkarshANa,pradyumna and aniruDhDha).(I worship such a Godess).ghR^itapratIkAM tAM nityaM ghR^itapUrNAnnadAyinIm.h |yatheshhTavittadAtrIM cha nato.asmyabhayadAM shriyam.h || 18||The One who always grants her devotees rice with ghee & copious amounts of wealth & always protects them, Oh Mahalakshmi, I bow to You.OR I worship Godess sri Lakshmi who is (abhimAni) for ghee (clarifiedbutter). She gives devotees rice mixed with ghee , plentiful money andblessings of her protection (abhaya) for ever.Note: Eating rice mixed with ghee was an indication of wealth in Indiain the old days. vAdirAjena rachitaM shrIshrIshaguNadarpaNam.h |imaM stavaM paThanmartyaH shrImAnsyAnnAtra saMshayaH || 19||Those who recite this Shreeshagunadarpana sthothra of Lakshmi & Narayana composed by Sri Sri Vadiraja Theertha would become wealthy. There is no doubting this. OR A person who reads this stothra composed by sri vAdhirAja swamiji willbe blessed with great wealth. Thanks for the great posting. I just have a couple of

basic queries on these.

 

Goddess Mahalakshmi has an Aprakru^ta shareera unlike

mortals, so how can physical attributes like nine

openings, nose, limbs, etc be attributed to Her? Or

is it a poetic metaphor by the composer (in this case

our beloved Shri Vadirajaru) in his description of the

Goddess?

Is it for the benefit of lower souls so that we can

visualize Her in all glory and then worshipping Her in

that manner will help fetch immense results.

 

Please clarify.

Namaskara, Shree Shreesha Guna Darpana since from last 20 years I am doing parayana of this great stotra authored by Shree Shree Vadiraja Gurusarvabhoumaru who is beleived to be Bhavi sameeraru and has got immense power of blessing the devotees with great spiritual and material wealth.Basing on this stotra I have designed one picture of

Shreemanmahalaxmi with four tresses and other alamkara.This picture named Bhagyada Laxmi Baramma has become very popular and many people are selling this by taking duplicate printouts . I herewith attaching one of still picture from my animation work on Shree Shree Vadiraja's Shree Laxmi Shobhane pada which is at it's initial stage. Kindly share ur views.
