His Holiness Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji of

Puthige Mutt is ascending the Paryaya Peetha in

January 2008. In this connection, a Paryaya

coordination committee meeting was held at Govardhan

Kshetra, Puthige Mutt, in Bangalore on Sunday March 4.

The Swamiji listed the programmes he has

chalked out for his Paryaya:

 

1) Seek World Bank help through the Karnataka

Government to beautify Udupi town.

 

2) Build structures depicting Krishna leela at many

places in Udupi.

 

3) Provide hi-tech Vishvaroopa darshana of the Lord as

depicted in the Bhagavad Gita at the Gita Mandira.

 

4) Organise mass chanting of the Bhagavad Gita in

Udupi.

 

5) Organise a world conference of religious heads in

Udupi since he is the head of the World Conference of

Religions for Peace.

 

6) Build a NRI Bhavan in Udupi for the stay of NRIs

and help them appreciate more about the glory of

Udupi.

 

The Swamiji also announced that he will be observing

his 2007 Chaturmasya in Bangalore. Significantly, he

pointed out that the major support for all Paryayas in

Udupi comes from the people of Bangalore. ( On earlier

occasions too, he had said that the devotion towards

the Lord exhibited by the Madhva community of

Bangalore is exemplary and almost unparalleled) .

 

Sri Koteshwara Suryanarayana Rao and others who spoke

at the function expressed their support for the

Paryaya programme and said the Swamiji's visit to many

countries to spread Madhva philosophy was a

magnificient gesture which had won him the hearts of

many people.
