Also why is Anantheswara Temple murty that looks like Shiva Linga treated as viSNu ? I have heard of similar case in Kanchipuram(I guess). I am asking this question because I read something of linga referring to reproductive organ as per Saiva tantras and Tamasik Puranas. Can somebody clarify what is Vedic understanding ? I have also read something to the effect that Shri Vadiraja Tirtha worshipped Rudra Deva in linga form. Is this true ? As he is generally regarded as a Rju how can he worship Rudra Deva ?
