Guest guest
22-03-07 Madhwa'a Teachings New Year Greetings (Sarvajit Nam Samvatsar) " Madhwa's Teachings " wishes all its readers a very happy and prosperous New Year, Sarvajit Nam Samvatsar The Sarvajit Nam Samvatsar that began last Monday was, unlike other years of the past, not accorded usual warm welcome, because of its arrival accompanying solar eclipse. While the scientific minded people, who regarded the eclipse as a normal astronomical event welcomed the New Year with enthusiasm, others, who regarded eclipse as a bad omen showed lukewarm response to it. H. H.Shri Satyatmateertha Swamiji prayed for the well being of all and so did Shri. Vidyasimhacharya at the Satyadhyan Vidyapeeth, Mulund, like all other priests in the temples. In the evening, Panchnga Shravana was arranged at the Vidyapeeth. Explaining the salient features of the New Year, Shri. Krishnacharya said that, by and large, the new Samvatsara would bring prosperity to the people. However, he asked us to do parayana of Narasimha Stuti to minimize the ill effects the New Year has in its store for us. Be that as it may, we know that every New Year brings with it, ups and downs of varying degrees for every one of us and if the solar eclipse was indeed an indication of a dark patch, let us welcome it too for as students of philosophy we know that darkness holds light within its womb. All that we are required to do is to penetrate the darkness; face the situation bravely and face it we shall with fearlessness at heart and a smile on our face , with the blessings of Shri. Satyatmateertha Swamiji and our guru, who have prayed to God on our behalf and the inner strength the Narasimha Stuti parayana will provide. Dear Reader, let us start Narasimha Stuti parayana. With best regards, Ramchandra.Tammannacharya.Gutti. Tel. No. 91-22-25613546
