Guest guest Posted May 28, 2007 Report Share Posted May 28, 2007 Greetings, I received Presidential honour on Monday, 21st May 2007 at Rashtrapati Bhavan called – Maharishi Badrayan Vyas Samman – awarded in recognition of my contribution for using IT to preserve the Indian cultural heritage especially the Manuscripts of India and working towards the development of the same. This is perhaps the first time an IT professional is being given this honour. The citation says: translated into english from hindi and sanskrit I, A P J Abdul Kalam, President of India honour Ramachandra Budihal for his contribution for Sanskrit promotion and to encourage the youth participation for the same, I confer – Maharishi Badrayan Vyas Samman – to him Signature and date. Your exemplery dedicated service towards preserving, digitizing ancient works, developing algorithms and "vyAsa" software using modern IT concepts is something that will go a long way towards immortalizing the treasure that Indians have inherited. I would urge you to tell this on you cv and to wipro top management (i guess you work there).I have seen many Madhvas often downplay and are humble about their achievements, not a correct strategy in the present competitive world. every best wish for many more awards.
