Guest guest
Dear All 1.Appears so, going by iconographic features.Even the other two are likely to be so. I recall having read that the Aambur Anjaneya temple was constructed during the Vijayanagar period during the reign of krishna deva raya. Therefore the probability is high. 2. Similarly I have seen years back, an Anjaneya idol, quite a big one, in the famous Shiva temple at Tiruvannamalai (this Shiva has been praised by saint VAdiraja, who studied under Sri Vyasaraja for some time, in his work Theertha Prabhanda and an important Shiva temple for Madhvas, in addition to Virudhachalam). The idol is believed to be have been installed during Krishna deva raya's reign, who was also a disciple of Sri Vyasaraja. This beautiful idol with fine features and iconographic aspects, I recall, is similar to the ones that Sri Vyasaraja installed. My father asked the priest there reg installation details. Not much information could be gathered. This idol is adjacent to the veerabhadra idol, a well - carved one, also installed in Krishna deva raya period. 3. You can also use another criterion- inquiring about worship procedures in addition to iconographic aspects. In general, for idols installed by Sri Vyasaraja, till recently, the practice of Vada garlands was not there, even if the idol was worshipped by other sects (things may have changed today) 4. There is also an Anjaneya idol at Bammagatti (spelling?) somewhere near Raichur installed by Sri Vyasaraja. The idol was discovered by a farmer based on instructions in a dream and was asked to approach Sri Vyasaraja. The sthala purana has been painted on the walls. 5. I have also come across an Anjaneya idol believed to be installed by Sri Vyasaraja near Pedda market in Kurnool. I had darshan of this by chance. On a brief visit to the Uttaradi Matha there, which has the Moola Brindavana of Sri Sathyanidhi thirtha and a Narasimha worshipped by Maharishi Vashista, a local youngster, literally forced me to this temple and ensured my darshan of this Anjaneya. 6.Kurnool also has a Venkatesha and an Anjaneya installed by Sri Narahari Thirtha and well maintained and worshipped by Madhvas with community support. 7. I think there is one more idol installed by sri Vyasaraja somewhere in the vicinity of Srirangam and Thiruvanaikkaval near Tiruchi.
