Dear Hari Bhaktas, Am a member of this Madipakkam MADHWA SANGH since 2004.I wish to share some information regarding the same. Sri Madhwa Seva Singh,maipakkam,Chennai was commenced on 25th December 1999 with a small contingent of 100 Madhwas in and around this palce.Initaially We were conducting sloka classes and madhwa works.On Sundays only the members could meet.Ekadasi Bhajans are being conducted at member’s houses.Lectures on Madhwa mahanirs life history is being delivered during the respective aradhana days. First Year Sri Raghavendra swamy aradhana ( First year celebrations at Madipakkam Seva sangh) was conducted by a Laksha archana in one sitting with a picture of Sri Raghavendra swamy ( since there is no Mutt in Madipakkam ) and the same was given to each devotee and were allowed to perform sahasranama archana followed by distribution of prasadams like sakkari pongal,Huli Anna,Mosra anna in donnai.A devotee came forward to feed all the devotees from the ensuing years. Slowly the sangha started celebrating Madhwa Navami with Pavamana Homa , hanumanth jayanthi with Vayu sthuthi,Punascharana Homa,madhwa gayathri with sumadhwa homa.Ashada suddha ekadasi is being conducted by akanda Bhajans followed by pacnchakavya ekadasi with panchakavya dwadasi with panchakavya homa and feeds 100 persons on that day. Purandara dasara aradhana is being celebrated with purandara dasa kritis being sung by many parties and devotees. A ladies wing with Sudha parimala bhajana mandali by name also joining with our sangha.Harikathamrutha sara classes are being conduced to them separately. Small religious tours to moola brindavans are being arranged. Besides,His Holiness of sri uthiradhi mutt,vyasaraja mutt,madhwa theertha mutt,sri pejavara mutt,sri bhandarekare mutt and sri palimar mutt visits this place whenever they come to Chennai. Bhiksavandana to these holiness are being conducted in a devotee’s house. Rig / Yaru upakarma are being conducted in a devotee’s house every year. Vedic scholars from sirugamani come and perform upakaramas. Three alankara Brahmins ( Vedic scholars) are being seated for alankara pankthi every year for aradhana.Their discourses on every aradhana morning for one hour duration followed by sahasranama archana is being performed. About 700 madhwas / Brahmins are fed. Apart from this about 100 poor people are fed on the aradhana days. Apart from this, for first day’s rites, monetary help is given from the sangha to the poor madhwa’s death. For conducting all these functions, we take a hall for hire and spend about Rs 15,000/- each. So sangha is eagerly looking for philanthropists who can help sangha to procure a place / building for conducting these activities. This place will serve the purpose of sangha’s functions besides helping the local people to conduct their functions in these places with subsidized rent. Regards, N.Hari Prasath Moody friends.
