Invitation to participate in Udupi Paryaya and Sri Raghothama Thirthara Aradhana

Introduction:

Many of you already know and have been following, on this email group, regarding the progress of, preparatory events leading to the Paryaya function in January 2008. In 2008, shrI sugunendra thirta sripadaru, shrI puthige matha, will transition and takes charge of shrI Krishna temple. The main paryaya function days are January 16, 17 and 18.

Following the paryaya function, the aradhana of shrI raghottama thirtaru (thirukoilur) will be on the 19 January.

It is a great opportunity to participate in both the programs, get the blessings of shrI hari vaayu gurugalu.

USA group participation in the programs

Many krishnabhaktas from the United States have been discussing about making a special trip to India during this time and attend both the functions. At a high level, the core part of the trip would be like this:

1. Arrive on the 15th evening or early hours of 16th January in Udupi

2. Attend the main functions in Udupi on January 16, 17 and 18. Jan 18 is important when shrI sugunendra thIrta shrIpAdaru takes charge of Sri Krishna temple early in the morning and performs all the poojas, including the maha pooja in the morning/noon, chaamara pooja in the evening followed by the rathothsava/sayanothsava in the night

3. On January 19, ekadashi, leave Mangalore by the first flight about 9:30 am and reach Bangalore by about 10:45 am. We will be arranging car/van for driving directly from Bangalore airport to Thirukoilur, arriving in Thirukoilur about 5 pm

4. In Thirukoilur, we will have tapta mudradharana by shrI satyAtma thirta shrIpAdaru, then participate in Bhava Bodha Vidwath Sabha (this is the 8th year, this is done due to our sponsorship every year, the funds are already arranged), jagarene,

5. 20 January 2008 early morning, grand abhisheka to shrI raghOttamara brindhavana and moola rAma devara pooje by shrI satyAtma thirta shrIpAdaru, thirta prasada, and remaining lectures by scholars

6. Depart to your respective locations (Chennai, Bangalore, etc) after about 5:00 PM on 20 January 2007

Group Arrangements

· We would like to get commitments from people attending the program from the US so that arrangements can be made for stay in Udupi/Thirukoilur as well as the travel from Udupi to Thirukoilur

· If there are more than 12 persons, we can also look in to "group rates" for international flight segments

What do we need from you

1. Obviously, we request every sadvaishnava to pray the lord's preraNe to provide the ability, convenience, and willingness to attend and participate in both the programs

2. If you are interested in attending, and want to be part of the USA VMS group, do send me an email with the following details by the end of this month (July 2007)

a. Number of people (adults and children) attending

b. Do you want to participate in both the programs or any one specific program

c. Would you be interested in group travel (air travel only) arrangements from the US to India and back?
