Lunar Eclipse (Chandra GrahaNa) on Shraavana Poornima

Dear Devotees, The Lunar Eclipse will take place on August 28th, 2007. As stated in Shastras, this period of “Punya Kaala” (during the time of the eclipse) should be utilized for doing good karmas and for earning punya. Everyone must take bath at the beginning and end of the eclipse; doing so is equivalent to Pavithra Snana. It is said in the PuraNas that the presence of the Abhimaani Devataas of the river Ganga and all other sacred rivers will be there in all waters. In order to take full advantage of this auspicious"kaala," one should fast and do Japa, Pooja, and Stotra PaaraayaNa.
