Chaturvedi, the governor of Karnataka, released the book. Santha Bhadragiri

Achyutadas and Justice Sadashiv were the chief-guests.

The entire Raj Bhavan atmosphere and the banquet hall was filled with divine

vibrations of Vishnusahasranaama.

Raichur Seshagiridas started the function with a most melodious hindi

bhajan. Mahalakshmi Bhajana Mandali members, under the leadership of Smt.

Rajalakshmi, rendered the most memorable `Ventakataramane baaro' devara

naama. The vedic chants of Suresh Shastry and Sharma created an atmosphere

of vedic times all around.

Dr. M.R.V. Prasad, Chairman, Akhila Karnataka Brahmana Maha Sabha, welcomed

the distinguished gathering. He said that it is going to be history that a

great spiritual book Vishnusahasranaama is being released at Raj Bhavan. He

said in olden times, the great philosophical works were being released in

palaces at the hands of the kings. Now, the present governor Sri T. N.

Chaturvedi, who himself a doyen among the great spiritual personalities of

India, is releasing this book in Raj Bhavan. He welcomed His Excellency and

all other guests.

He also brought to the notice of the audience how Dr. Aralumallige

Parthasarathy has been serving the cause of Haridasa sahitya for over 38

years through his publications, lectures, CDs and international propagation.

He further said the last seven years he has added new dimensions to

Bhagavata and Vishnusahasranaama, taking them to millions of people all

across the world. He also referred to the Bhakti Bhagavata serial being

telecast by Zee Kannada TV from the last two months regularly, both in the

morning and in the evening. More than 70 lakh people are viewing

Aralumallige Parthasarathy's rendering of Bhakti Bhagavata.

Dr. Prasad narrated how the present work Vishnusahasranaama has filled the

impact gap that was there on the subject so far. Dr. Prasad stated that Dr.

Aralumallige Parthasarathy's Vishnusahasranaama is the best book available

on the subject and it is a must to be possessed book by every householder.

Bhadragiri Achyutadas spoke about the book and Dr. Aralumallige

Parthasarathy. He narrated how Dr. Parthasarathy is the embodiment of

aachaara, vichaara and prachaara. He said Vishnusahasranaama is the most

powerful antidote for all the agonies and problems of the modern man. He

said it is befitting that a rajarshi like T.N. Chaturvedi, who himself is

like a modern Bhishma, is releasing this book.

Justice Sadashiva spoke that Vishnusahasranaama is the greatest scriptural

treasure of India. Its meaning and contents are so absorbing. But

unfortunately, it has not reached 90% of the people in the rural areas. So

the scholars should make the effort to take it to the people who are

deprived of it. He said that Dr. Aralumallige has been taking the message of

Vishnusahasranaama and all other scriptures to different parts of the world.

His present work is laudable and will be appreciated both by scholars and

common people.

The governor, while releasing the book, stated that Vishnusahasranaama is

the most well known and cherished scriptures. Its chanting provides a relief

and a solace. It sings many splendors and glories of the Lord Maha Vishnu.

Dr. Aralumallige has taken lot of pains to bring out the meaning, the

message and significance of all the thousand names. He explains the meaning

of each name in its plenitude. He does this effectively in the modern idiom

to that it is well understood by the modern mind. Anyone who reads this book

can understand and appreciate the profound message of Vishnusahasranaama.

His Excellency also emphasized how Aralumallige has brought out a

motivational and highly inspirational concept in explaining the meanings of

the Lord's names. Even though a number of editions of Vishnusahasranaama are

available, this book of Dr. Aralumallige Parthasarathy in English, with its

felicity of language and simplicity of expression is best suited to the new

generation of scholars as well as seekers of spirituality. The governor

concluded his address by stating that Dr. Parthasarathy's edition of

Vishnusahasranaama is certainly one which all of us should possess and make

regular use of, for our spiritual enrichment.

The author, Dr. Aralumallige Parthasarathy spoke at length and said that he

was hearing the recitation of Vishnusahasranaama from his early childhood

days. He said that its continuous chanting can itself become a form of

meditation. He said it is an important extract from Mahabharata, from which

Bhishmacharya narrates Vishnusahasranaama to Dharmaraja. Bhishmacharya

reassures that anyone who recites this with sincere devotion should get all

the comforts, success, peace, joy and durable happiness.

Dr. Aralumallige stated that chanting of Vishnusahasranaama is the sure cure

for all the agonies and problems, difficulties and disturbances. He also

stated that chanting the sacred thousand names in Vishnusahasranaama is

equivalent to paying visits to thousands of temples. He explained in detail

and systems and customs of the group chanting of Vishnusahasranaama. He

appealed to everybody to recite it everyday as it brings noble values, great

wealth, progress and prosperity, peace and joy, health and happpiness.
