Dear Pavamana,Sun enters the Makara Raasi on Midnight, 14th January. So the Punyakala will start from the time of Sun Rise on 15th January. There is ashastraic injunction that the first five nAdIs(ghaTikAs) are puNyatama(more beneficial)(prAtaH pa~ncanADyaH puNyatamAH). From the Sunrise (6:59 a.m according to UM Panchanga) if we count 5nAdIs ( 1 nAdi = 24 mins) the puNyatama kAla would be 5*24 = 120 minsi.e 2 hrs from sunrise i.e upto 8:59 a.m. Therefore it is advised togive Pitru Tarpana, do Parayana, Japa etc during this very auspicioustime.haraye namaha,regards,R.Rachuriuttaradimath-list , "Yadhu Nath.S"<pavamana wrote:>> Hare Srinivasa,> > This year the Uttarayana Parvakala falls on 15th Jan, > > what time do we need to give Pitru Tarpana ?> > Is it between any specific timings , if so what is it > > Danyavadagalu> Yadhu>
