Rgds Harish ----- Forwarded Message ----suhas rao < susirao >harishdrao Sent: Friday, January 11, 2008 8:44:23 AMwishes of shree JAGANATHA theerthara aaradhaney namskaara harish just a few things to add on this great seer. II sri MOOLA GOPALAKRISHNO vijayathey II II sri JAGANATHAGURURAJO vijayathey II " Sri JAGANATHA Theertharu " vidwat pankaja mArthAnda: vAdimatthEbha kEsaree | JAGANNATHA gururbhooyat jyAyasE shrEyasE mama || Ø He was the 23rd pontiff in the great vyaasarja mutta paramparey. Ø His duration of sanyasashrama was from 1755-1770. Ø His aradhaney is celebrated on Pushya maasa Shukla Dwitiya theethi Ø His Predecessor was Sri Raghunatha theertharu Ø His Sucessor was Sri Srinatha theertharu. Ø His Brindavana Pravesha was in the year 1770. Ø His Brindavan is located in Kumbukonam near River Kaveri. A small note on Sri Jagannathaa Theertharu Also famous as Sri Bhashya Deepikacharyaru .. His greatest work is on Brahma Sutra Bhashya of Sri Acharya Madhwa, hence the famous title He was a great vidwan, tapaswi, and a treasure of vairagya. He is believed to have crossed the river with Devara Pettige when chased by theives and was protected by Lord Sri Narasimha. A brief history of the seer hanged in a photo frame in front of the Moola brindavana An personal appeal from me: I was lucky enough to have darshan of the moola brindavana during my visit to kumbukonam last month. I don't have words to explain the pathethic condition in and around the brindavana. There are two other moola brindavanas (vidhyapathi theertharu and vidhyanatha theerthetu) near Jaganatha theerthas brindavan. There is no doors and gates to this place. Thankfully theres is a leaky concrete roof. All round Land belonging to the mutt has been sold out for personal benefits. Nirmaalya and naividhya is done by one humble Brahmin in the morning and goes home. Usually in the evenings a pawn broker who has also opened a kirai shop very near to the brindavana( he has been given that place on rent) lights a deepa in the evenings. It's a real shame to see the surrounding places filled with dirt and pollution. All I could do was to offer my humble offering what I could and collect the contact details of the humble Brahmin who is doing pooja in the morning and assured him of some assistance which I could manage. I was waiting for this day to publish these details to all, trust me with pain im writing this lines as I still recall the scenario there. I will be publishing the contact details of that humble Brahmin in my next mail. Please make it a point to visit this place whenever you go to Kumbukonam. In Cities mritika brindavanas are decorated with golden/silver kavacha whereas in some places MOOLA brindavanas even do not have proper doors / shelters even to stop, stray animals coming inside. We cant change the world atleast let us try wat's possible from our side and be nearer to vyaasaraja theerthanthargatha sri moola Gopala Krishna devaru. Looking for last minute shopping deals?
