Lunar Eclipse (Chandra GrahaNa) on Feb 20th, 2008

Dear Devotees, The Lunar Eclipse will take place on Wednesday, February 20th, 2008. The period of the eclipse is called the “Punya Kaala.” This is the sacred time for doing Punya Karmas and earning Punya, as stated in Shastras. Everyone must take bath at the beginning and end of the eclipse time, it’ll be

equivalent to Pavithra Snana. The presence of Abhimaani Devataas of Ganga and all other sacred rivers will be there in all water as stated in PuraNas. Everyone has to fast and do Japa, Pooja, and Stotra PaaraayaNa to get special Blessings of this auspicious time. It is good to not partake anymeals after 10.30am(8 hours before the start of the eclipse). Any Punya Karma done with full Faith in this period yields multiple times of Phala and removes all doshAs.
