Summary

1) Poorvashrama name - Sri Jayatheerthacharyar u, s/o Sri Krishnacharyaru2) He did all his vidyabhyasa at Mantralaya and became an expert in shastra, veda etc3) He was leading a luxurious life with his wife and once on listening to a hari dAsa keerthane - mancha bAradu, madadi bAraLu kanchu kannadi bAradu, he became akhanda vairagi and his wife too followed him in every step4) He was given sanyasashrana by Sri Satya Vara Theertharu, and he was known as Vishnu theertharu, since he spent most of his time in his jnAnarjane in forests, he was also known as Adavi Theertharu5) Some of his works are - bhAgavata sArOddhAra (condensed bhAgavata into 30 prakaraNas), sudhA tippaNi, ramA Sthothra (believed to turn copper into gold), nyAya sudhA sthothra, Sumadhwa Vijaya Sangrama lEkha6) He is believed to have done sudha manga:a 108 times7) There is a story about he wanting to go to Badari but everytime he was stopped by a snake and on

querying, he was given to understand that Badari Narayana had come down to his place (Madanur) to give him darshan and his idol was in a well. Even today, we find the same idol in Madanur.8) He is believed to be of Rudramsha sambhootharu and his aradhane fall on the day of Shiva Ratri
