Guest guest
The New Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha with Lord Venkatesha's idol –A Divine Project. A common grievance of the Lord Venkatesha's devotees in Mumbai is the absence of His temple in its near suburbs. Many devotees living in these suburban areas consider themselves unfortunate for being denied darshana of their Lord with the resulting experience of mental quietude. A large number of devotees visiting the Vrindavana at the Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha have expressed their wish that the complex should have an idol of Lord Venkatesha. Their wish assumes higher decibels during Navaratri, when the complex wears a different look with its main hall decorated with flowers, performance of special pooja and discourses on Shrinivas Kalyan in the evenings for all the ten days. Lord Venkatesha's idol would add ethereal dimension to the serenity of the atmosphere, they have often been heard saying. True, the idol of the Lord of the Seven Hills has a unique soothing effect on the beholder. Kulapati Vidyasimhacharya, who had been conveyed this wish of the devotees, time and again, did appreciate the sentiments of the devotees, but was helpless, because installation of the Lord's idol according to the laid-down procedure was an impossibility in the prevailing conditions, without drastically altering the internal set-up of the complex. The " vox populi " continued to force him to contemplate for long on ways to help fulfill the devotees' intense desire. He was waiting for an opportunity and the opportunity knocked on his door in an unexpected form; in the form of a prematurely weakened structure of the complex building that warranted demolition. He could now install the Lord's idol in full glory along with the vrindavana and idols of other deities in newly built complex. He decided to leave no stone unturned in fulfilling the aspirations of the devotees. As a first step in the direction, he travelled south to select a flawless granite rock to be used for carving out the idol and, after performing the required pooja, he arranged to deliver it to the sculptors engaged for generations in the sculpturing of life-like deities for installation in temples. He also assigned the work of building stone sanctum-sanctorum for the idol. He further chalked out plans to transport the idol to Mumbai amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by Brahmins all along the road journey from Kanchi to Tirumlai to Mulund, Mumbai, a distance of more than 1000 Kms. Back in Mulund, he performed special pooja in the place chosen for building the sanctum- sanctorum in addition to the regular pooja of the complex. With a view to further sanctifying the area of the proposed sanctum-sanctorum of the Lord, he managed to get the waters from all the holy rivers of the country and sprinkled these at the very commencement of the work; at the foundation level and he performed all the rituals observing auspicious times according to the planetary positions. A full size idol of Lord Venkatesha, thus installed in His full glory and in traditional surroundings will soon adorn the New SDVP complex and will offer the devotees much needed tranquility and solace they have been long aspiring for. The new SDVP Complex with the idol of Lord Venkatesha, Shri. Raghavendra Swamiji's Vrindavana and the idols of other important deities will be a unique monument in many respects. The architect, Dr Ajay. Yeri, with a deep insight into aesthetics has integrated many of the traditional architectural characteristics into the modern building concepts. While it will look like a renovated building constructed in the earlier part of the last century, the architect has made provision for modern facilities like spacious Audio- Visual Room, Medical Centre, a very large library of more than one lakh books consisting of ancient works on palm leaves and modern books including complete set of Encyclopaedia Britannica, Meditation and Yoga Centre etc. The architect has provided for the fusion of traditional and modern architecture. A brochure giving the details of the complex is sent herewith for the information of readers. The brochure also contains an appeal for donations to help the Governing Council of the Vidyapeetha to help fulfill the aspirations of the devotees, in tune with the changing times. The Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha has been spreading the Vedic lore and true knowledge to the people for decades and it will continue to do so. Its reconstruction is the need of the hour. It is a Divine Project, which needs help from all of us to complete. Therefore, on behalf of the Vidyapeetha, once again I earnestly appeal to all readers to donate generously for the divine project. With kind regards, Ramchandra.Tammannacharya.Gutti. Encl. One brochure. P.S. The accompaniment being an over-capacity document, the same could not be attached. It is, however, up-loaded on the following link for readers to unload from. http://www.4shared.com/dir/1616661/51e85fe4/sharing.html
