Guest guest
The New Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha with Lord Venkatesha's Idol -Larger involvement of commoners. The work of reconstruction of the New Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha is in progress. It is progressing as per schedule, thanks to Lord Venkatesha's blessings and the concerted efforts of the Project team. Yet, the project may not prove to be an exception to the adage " mane katti nodu'. The project, in the initial stage itself, has incurred expenditure far in excess of the initial budget. Kulapati Vidyasimhacharya, however, is quite confident that with the blessings of His Holiness Shri.Satyatmateertha Swamiji and good wishes of the elders, the Governing Council of the Vidyapeetha will be able to take care of the present deficit and complete the project in time. During the recent Review Committee meeting called to take stock of the position, Kulapatiji observed that the donations received so far had come from the upper stratum of the community and that the lower layer comprising commoners seemed to have been almost marginalized only with a lukewarm response. Highlighting the importance of smaller donations which normally come from ordinary people, he said that being given with total devotion, they have a far greater spiritual value that affects temples and educational institutions like the Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha in subtler ways, Not only do they help fill coffers but they also contribute to the success of such complexes to a great extent. Larger donations are as much necessary as are small donations, he said. Therefore, he said that greater efforts were needed in that direction. The common man has a deeply engraved impression on his mind that donations start with a minimum amount of Rs 1000/- and progressing in multiples thereof, they advance into five figures. Sometimes they reach six figures and at time even seven figures. Being a man with limited resources, he can afford to donate an amount of say Rs.500, which he considers very insignificant as a donation and although willing, he takes a back seat. In physical terms with vastly reduced purchasing power of the Rupee, an amount of Rs.500 is an insignificant amount, but hard earned as it is and given with total devotion, it has great value in spiritual terms. What counts is not the amount but the devotion and sincerity with which it is offered. Large donations are necessary for constructing a temple-cum-educational complex like the proposed new Vidyapeetha, but so are small donations as well. Larger donations lend strength to the structures, small donations lend longevity to them; the former lend majesty and serenity to the neighbourhood, the latter enhance the sanctity within. In other words, small donations are as much necessary for a temple complex as large donations. Small donors have, therefore, no reason to feel that their donations are insignificant and, therefore, not to be offered. On behalf of the Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha, once again, I appeal to all readers to contribute their mite; howsoever small may be the amount, to the building of the new Vidyapeetha. They may pay their contribution to the Maadhwa Bandhus active in their localities. There are many devoted Maadhwa Bandhus viz S/Shri. Harish Rao in Bangalore, Balkrishna Kale and Jaymangal Raghavendrachar in Hyderaband Sameer Atre in Pune, to give just a few names. They will collect the amounts from the readers and remit it to the Satyadyan Vidyapeetha, Mulund(West), Mumbai 400080. Those who intend to pay by cheque may draw the same in favour of Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha. With best regards, Ramchandra. Tammannacharya.Gutti.
