Report : Workshop on Chaturmasa Vratas - Acharane & Anusandhana by MYP

To let you all know , MYP with Hari Vayu Gurugala Anugraha conducted this

workshop on JUN 29th 2008 at Sri Poorna Prajna Vidya peetha , Bangalore as

scheduled. The program started at 10.30am as the initial turnout of participants

was less. It picked up as the day progressed and we had close to 80 people who

took benefit of this program

 

Sri Sri Vishwanandana Tirtharu started the workshop with a breif introduction on

Significance of Chaturmasa. He then passed on the next Hot Topic of the day '

Tapta Mudradharane' to Sri Chaturvedi Vedavyasachar. Sri Achar explained why

Tapta Mudre is essential , from whom we should take tapta mudre etc . Sri

Swamiji added some more pointers supporting Sri Achar's words and opened for Q &

A.

 

The following were the additional topics covered in the day

 

a) Chaturmasa Devathegalu

b) Vratha Sankalpa

c) Shakha, Dadhi, Ksheera and Dwidala Vratha

d) Donts in Chaturmasa ( Varjya karmas)

e) Paraka Vratha

f) Shashtikala Vratha

g) Laksha Tulasi pradakshine

h) Laksha Bathi Vratha

i) Laksha Padma Vratha

j) Mouna , Dik Sadhane, Yeka Buktha vrathas during Bhojana

k) Laksha Pradakshine Vratha

l) Laksha Namaskara Vratha

m) Dharane- Parane Vratha

n) GoPadma Vratha

o) Vishnu Shayanotsava

p) PavithraRopana

 

Each of the above Topics were first breifed by Sri Chaturvedi Vedavyasachar

which was followed by Swamiji, adding more inforamtion to what Sri Achar said

and then Followed by Q & A .The session was very interactive which made Sri

Swamiji stay back till 5.30 pm in the evening. He was scheduled to go back at

2pm and comeback at 4pm again to give the closing notes.

We thank Sri Swamiji and Sri Vedavyasachar for sharing their Jnana/time with us

inspite of the day being Ekadashi and their tight schedules. We would like to

thank PPVP for providing us the Samshodhana Mandira Sabhagruha and for all the

other arrangements. We also thank all the participants for attending the above

workshop and making it so interactive. We do have the recording of the entire

event ( audio only) and would distribute CDs in our next event.
