|| Sri Krishnaya Namaha ||namaskAra, MYP would like to bring out few salient aspects of the practices and guidelines about the rituals to be followed on the auspicious occassion of Solar Eclipse & Bheemana Amavasye on Aug 1st.We have tried to contact various Mutt Authorities & Pandits and made an honest attempt to furnish a consolidated report as below about what needs to be observed on next two days. This is to the best of our knowledge & ability, you are kindly requested to contact your local/affiliated mutts for more accurate information in this regard. While we are not trying to highlight the differences in

practices nor the intention is to confuse our Madhwa Bandhus, we wanted to make sure our people who follow different traditions, know of what they need to do.

Additional Notes

Per tradition of SVM, festivals are not performed in the evenings ashastodaka cannot be given to Gurugalu and Yatis (in such exigentsituations like Suryagrahana & Amavaysa). So, all the Vyasaraja Mutt devotees are requested to observe & celebrate Bheemana Amavaysa on JUL 31st, (Thu)in the evening.

Since there will be a 4– 5 minutes of Surya darshana after Grahana, we can perform all the rituals like Shraaddha, taila abyanjana, divasi gowri pooje, bheemana amavasye festival, nava vastra dhAraNa & bhojana.Only Yathigalu & Madi women should not be having bhojana on Friday. For Brindavanas, no hastodaka, only mangalarathi

People who are of Pushya Nakshatra and Karkataka Rashi, have inauspicious / undesired effect and they are requested to do soorya japa, and donate Light, Gold to the best of their abilities.

Amavasye Shraddha to be performed on next day.Grasamana = 28% of Ravi bimba
