Guest guest
Haraye Namah.Aatmeeya Maadhva Bandhugale,The fun of Sanskrit lies in its openness. A single word gets coined by a combination of a root, a prefix and a suffix. The root itself often has a wider scope and the suffixes and prefixes further widen it. Thus the interpretations also go wider. Let us see how a single word 'aalayam' in the Bhagavata Sloka, "pibata bhaagavatam rasam aalayam..." gets interpreted - not because of its scope in root, not because of its suffix or prefix but because of mere perception.Sri VishNuteertha Swamiji interprets aalayam to mean "till death" - yavaddehah.Sri Vijayadwajateertha Swamiji interprets it to mean "till the time we remain with linga deha" - lingashareeramokshaparyantam.Sri Sreedharaswaji of advaitic school interprets it to mean "even after moksha" - layam abhivyaapya (लयमà¤à¤¿à¤µà¥à¤¯à¤¾à¤ªà¥à¤¯).A progression from this life, to the end of cycle of births and deaths and then to the stage even after salvation. Sreedharaswamiji further authenticates his interpretation by quoting the following verse:आतà¥à¤®à¤¾à¤°à¤¾à¤®à¤¶à¥à¤š मà¥à¤¨à¤¯à¥‹ निरà¥à¤—à¥à¤°à¤¨à¥à¤¥à¤¾ अपà¥à¤¯à¥à¤°à¥à¤•à¥à¤°à¤®à¥‡ । कà¥à¤°à¥à¤µà¤¨à¥à¤¤à¥à¤¯à¤¹à¥ˆà¤¤à¥à¤•à¥€à¤‚ मà¥à¤•à¥à¤¤à¤¿à¤®à¤¿à¤¤à¥à¤¥à¤‚à¤à¥‚तगà¥à¤£à¥‹ हरि:||Why limit the scope of Bhaagavata when it is well known that even muktaas engage themselves in harikatha out of devotion to him and not for begetting any benefit out of it.Our Aacharya (Madhvaacharya), just quotes from BrahmaaNDa puraaNa and puts it as aamoksha - leaving it open for us to interpret as "upto attaining moksha" or "Inclusive of the state of moksha", the way Sreedharaswamiji has interpreted. This is just a sample where there is no contradiction in interpretation. It will be more interesting when we find different meanings supplementing or contradicting with each other. Let us continue to have a comparitive study of Bhaagavatam - an uddharani full every day - on all days - no exception, at the following address:http://simhageeta.wikidot.com/forum/t-103614/gist-of-phillosophy.Thanks and regardsRavindranath Kadlabaal Add more friends to your messenger and enjoy!
