Guest guest
Haraye Namah.Today is ekaadasi. We do upavaasa - fasting. Some do it in totality and some others do it by way of changing the type of food or reducing the quantity of total intake. While this is fine, the word upavaasa has one more meaning - "staying near" - near whom? near God. We are always near God at all times, why only ekadasi?. He is in and out of us. The word "staying" here, means being aware of his presence. To make ekadasi more meaningful, we need to allocate more than the normal time in remembering God. That makes it special. It is in this context that we have jagara in the nights. Extending the concept to our on-line hours, can we spend a little more time when hooked to internet in reading Bhaagavata on Ekadasi? If you can, kindly read through the 10 slokas of Bhaagvata Saaroddhaara available at the following address:http://simhageeta.wikidot.com/forum/t-113438/vairaagya-the-detachment-and-attachment These slokas that speak of vairaagya are very special for today, the day when we are sacrificing our beloved food. Thanks and regards.Ravindranath Kadlabal Check out the all-new face of India.
