Guest guest
hare srinivasa, Many have asked whether we can eat the prasada given on Ekadashi day. Hence this article - According to Madhwa Sampradaya, we should not eat anything, either it is rice/avalakki/rave. Ofcourse, Naivedya will be done only for Paramathma. There is no restrictions for him, the Jaganniyamaka. The Verdict of Srimadacharya is final for us. ACHARYA SRIMADACHARYA SANTUME JANMA JANMANI However, we observe when we go to Srivaishnava Temples, that Prasada in the roopa of Chitranna, mosaranna, etc will be given. It is their Sampradaya. There is a lot of difference between Madhwa Sampradaya and Sree Vaishnava Sampradaya. SreeVaishnavas (when in Madi) will touch every bhaktas, whereas Madhwas won't touch anybody. While doing the alankara of Flowers, Madhwa Archakas will put some water for the purification of flowers and do the alankara but not in the other Castes. There is a lot of difference between ours and theirs.. Krishnarpanamastu Narahari Sumadhwa. You should not take it, because it is not "prasAda" at all. Think like this, what is "prasAda"? It is "anugraha" in general sense, but in this context, it is the food after one does naivEdya to the Lord. But when shAstras are saying our Cheif is not accepting any food items on hari-vAsara days, how can one do naivEdya on such days and how can we treat such food as "prasAda"? So, what is being distributed is the non-nivEdita food in the name of "prasAda", hence one should avoid it just as any other food. Regards, Srinivas.
