On some other day, that great Brahmin Sri MadhyagEha bhatta wanted to payback rich seller the money (he had taken). The seller told him ‘your son has already given me the money’. In this way that seller secured the great gift of mOkSha itself (liberation) from Lord muKyaprANa incarnating as vAsudEva by the way of receiving some tamarind seeds. Oh! What a surprise! Notes: 1. Here vishiShTapurrushArtha means mOksha or liberation; ‘muktibIja’ means haribhakti(devotion to lord), tatvaj~jAna. 2. Material wealth does not last longer; true knowledge(doctrinal knowledge) lasts for ever; one who is desirous of liberation should acquire the true doctrinal knowledge. ‘sparshEShu ShODashamEkaviMshaM niShkaMchanAnAM nRupa yadvanaM viduH || ‘(bhAgavata 2/9/6) 3. The tamarind seeds became the medium for mOkShabIja (path to liberation). This is the greatness of shrI madhvAchArya. In tatvapradIpa, shrI trivikramapaMdiatAcharya praises muKyaprAna, who gave the kAlakUta poison to Rudra which was quivalent to nectar (amRuta). 4. Sri Madhva has given to his devotees the sure path to liberation in the form of sarvamUla (works of Sri Madhva). 5. shrI vAdirAja swAmi’s ‘gRuhNIyAt tiMtriNIshAKAM shigrushAKAgrahENa kiM’ statement from his work yuktimallika is like a commentary to this circumstance where tamarind seed was given in place of money. 6. shrI jagannAtha dAsa explains this beautifully in tatva-suvvAli huNasebIjadi pitana RuNava tiddida pUrNa guNavaMta guruve dayavAgO | dayavAgi nInenna RuNa mUrariMda gelisayya || (tatvasuvvAli). -------------- ... to be continued bhAratIramaNamuKhyaprANAMtargata Sri kRuShNArpaNamastu.
