Dear KrishNa bhaktas,

 

Dr. P.R. Mukund informed me that sri Bannanje GovindAchArya has been

awarded

Padma Shri award from the Govt of India as part of the Republic day awards.

 

Sri BG's talents such as scholarship, research in the ancient texts,

Scholarship in

Sanskrit, making the shAstrAs accessible to the public, writer, poet, teaching

ability etc.,

are too numerous to be mentioned in couple of sentences. We are fortunate to be

able live

in the same time frame and to be able to listen to his discourses. It is

obvious that he

fully deserves this award and many others. It is also an recognition for the

mAdhva

philosophy and its impact on Hinduism.

 

This is an award all of us can be proud of. Let us join to celebrate

this award,

congratulate and offer our praNAms to sri BG. Let us give our prayers to Sri

Hari, vAyu gurugaLu on this happy occasion.
