Guest guest
Monday, March 9 the aradhana of (Bhimanakatte Matha) Sri Raghudvaja Tirtha and kumbabhisheka of the new additions to the shrine were celebrated. The brindavana is about 300 years old, and is on the banks of river Bhavani. In the vicinity of Satyamangalam is Bannari Amman temple, on the route to Mysore. It is believed that Sri Raghudvaja Tirtha attained brindavana there after soochana from the deity, similar to Raghavendra Swami and Manchalamma for Mantralayam. As earlier planned, Bhimanakate Matha Swamiji could not make it to Satyamangalam on account of ill health.Sri Prasanna Shoora Madhava Tirtha, senior pontiff of Sri Madhava Tirtha Matha graced the occasion and presided over the celebrations. Sri Damodarachar of Erode and other pandits performed the aradhana and kumbabhisheka.Press and Renewed Interest:Last August, there was an article about the brindavana and Sri Raghudvaja Tirtha in the Tamil magazine Anandha Vikatan (Bhakti Vikatan). Since then, there has been a spurt in the number of devotees visiting from nearby areas. Also, a devotee from Odapalli, Palanisamy, has been actively involved in spreading word about the brindavana by distributing pamphlets, etc. Route:Devotees desirous of visiting the brindavana from Bangalore may travel via Dharmapuri -> Thoppur -> Mettur -> Andhiyur -> Satyamangalam. From Mysore, there are direct buses via Bannari. KSRTC and TN state buses ply to Satyamangalam.-- B. Sarvothaman
