Madhwa’s Teachings.

30-03-09.

Pratishthapana of Lord Venkatesha at Satyadhyana

Vidyapeetha, on 01-05-09.

A rare opportunity for Venkatesha devotees to do a very

significant service to .

the Lord.

Dear Reader,

Sri Venkatesha Seva Trust has decided to do pratishthapana of Lord

Venkatesha’s idol in the Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha complex on Friday,

1st May, 2009. His Holiness Sri Satyatma Teertha Swamiji, Pontiff,

Uttaradi Mutt, has graciously consented to perform the pratishthapana

along with the re-installation of Nav Vrindavan and other divinities.

The day will mark the beginning of a new and glorious chapter in the

annals of the Vidyapeetha. The Trust has, therefore, decided to

perform the pratishthapana ceremony on a grand scale beginning with

mahakubhabhisheka to the Lord.

The Trust is aware of the immense support the devotees have extended

to this long awaited dream of having a Lord Venkatesha temple at the

Vidyapeetha being translated into reality and their deep interest in

attending the pratishthapana of their most revered divinity.

Arrangements have been made for invitation to be sent out very soon.

Kulapati Vidyasimhacharya himself has taken initiative in the matter.

The Trust, therefore, expects devotees’ attendance in hitherto

unregistered numbers.

Vidwan Vidyasimhacharya is fully aware of the keen desire of the

devotees. He expects a very large number of devotees to participate in

the ceremony. He also appreciates their sentiments; he has allotted

some of the related duties to a few devotees but, wants still more

devotees’ participation in the event. In one of the meetings held

recently, he made a suggestion, which offers an opportunity to 1013

devotees to participate in the mahakumbhabhisheka to the Lord.

Mahakumbhabhisheka consists of abhisheka to the Lord with 1013

kalashas. To do it in a glory befitting the Lord, the Trust has

decided to use kalashas made of silver. Normally every family has a

silver kalasha, which is used on auspicious occasions and the same

could now be used in the kumbhabhisheka. The devotees will have to

deposit the kalasha at the Vidyapeetha two prior to the ceremony; the

exact date will be intimated in due course. The devotees will be

issued token on receipt of the kalasha and the kalasha will be

returned to the respective devotees the Pratishthapana day, after the

abhisheka, on presentation of the token.

The Trust has decided to allow this opportunity only to 1013 families

strictly on “first come, first served” basis. This arrangement is

resorted to with a view to giving an opportunity to the largest

possible number of devotees to serve the Lord. Going by a very

conservative estimation of the size of a nuclear family of the present

times, the arrangement, if fully responded, will amount to

approximately 4000 persons taking part in the mahakumbhabhisheka.

Interested devotees may register their names by e-mail to the writer

or in person at the Vidyapeetha, giving full name, address, telephone

No and e-mail ID..

Madhwa’s Teachings appeals to the readers to make the most of this God

sent opportunity and to receive Lord Venkatesha’s bountiful blessings

for themselves and their families.

With best regards,

Ramachandra Tammannacharya Gutti.
