Futher to the message posted by Sri Harish on rare picture. please find attached a rare picture wherein you can see 3 peethadipathigalu.

 

Details of the picture:

 

Photo was taken durig 1965. (there is a date stamp at the back side of the photo)

 

Present in the photo: Sri Sathyanidhigalu (Sripadaraja Mutt), Sri Suyamendraru (Sri Rayar Mut - Senior), Sri Sujayendraru (Sri Rayar Mutt - Junior) Left to right

 

There was a grand function when the swamijis of Sri Rayar mutt visited to Mulbagal. The photo was taken during the occasion. Satvikas who were present during this occasion can share their experience for the benefit of all.

An incident may be recalled here. This incident was happended during the period of Sri Sujayendraru (Sri Rayar mutt) & Sri Vijayanidhigalu (Sri Sripadaraja mutt). Sri Sujayendrau was suppose to go to Srirangam for the kumbabhisheka of their gurugala brindavanas. Sri Sujayendrararu told that if Sri Vijayanidhigalu goes and does the kumbabhisheka, then it is more than he himself doing the kumbabhisheka. Accordingly, Sri Vijayanidhigalu went and perfromed the kumbabhishkea to the Sri Sumatheendraru and other brindavanas. It is to be noted that Sri Vijayanidhigalu during his period undertaken only very very few sancharas. This is one of the very few. This is the kind of good relation between mutts.

Few weeks back, one of our members had requested for the picture of Sri Varadendra Theertharu, on which our key contributor to MYP, Sri GRR Rao had promised to check his Library. He has now gotten back with a picture, which is available in a book.

 

A book titled Sri Vijaya Dasara prArthanA bhAga suLAdigaLu, printed & published in 1946, under the series – Moksha Marga Pradeepika, published by Varadendra Haridasa Sahitya Mandali, Lingsugur, compiled & edited by Sri GorebaL Hanumantha Rao, With critics by Prof Nagaaja Sharma, Dept of Philiosophy, Presidency College, Madras, which appreared in The Hindu on

13th Jan ,1946. The preface is written by

Sri Govindarao Melagirirao Kulkarni, MaLagudda, Dharwad.

 

The book was released on the aradhane day of Sri Vijayadasaru and was priced at Rs 2/= only (in 1946)
