Madhwa’s Teachings.

Mahakumbhabhisheka of Sri. Venkatesha in His temple at the

Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha on 1st May, 2009.-Depositing of silver kalasha

at the Vidyapeetha.

10-04-09.

Dear Reader,

Madhwa’s Teachings had, by its mail dated 30-03-09, appealed to the

readers to make available silver kalasha to be used for the

mahakumbhabhisheka of the Lord on 01-05-09. Those devotees offering

silver kalasha were requested to register their names and other

details in advance. So far 21 readers have registered their names with

the writer and some devotees with the Vidyapeetha. The response from

the devotees is expected to be overwhelming.

The kalashas, when received, will have to be properly numbered and

kept ready in all respects one day prior to the abhisheka which

ceremony will start at 7-00 a.m. on 01-05-09. To keep all the 1013

kalashas ready for use will require at least two days to do every

thing properly.

The Vidyapeetha has, therefore, decided to collect kalashas only till

9-00 p.m. on 28-04-09. A special counter is being planned for the

purpose at the Vidyapeetha. It will be kept open between 4-00 p.m. and

9-00 p.m. Volunteers at the counter shall issue a token with a number

to a devotee against the receipt of a kalasha which will be returned

to the “donor” on 01-05-09, after abhisheka, against collection of the

token. The readers are, therefore, requested preserve the token

carefully.

Every care will be taken for the return of the proper kalasha to the

devotees. However, the readers are requested to get their name or

other identification mark re-engraved on their kalasha, if it has

become illegible due to prolonged use, to avoid being issued a wrong

kalasha.

Madhwa’s Teachings sincerely desires that 1013 devotees should be a

part of the kumbhabhisheka. Therefore, it once again appeals to the

readers who might have over-looked the earlier mail to register their

names either with the writer or at the Vidyapeetha. Madhwa’s Teachings

is also aware that out-station readers are denied this opportunity to

take part in the abhisheka. Therefore, it appeals to them to request

their relatives and other devotees staying in Mumbai or its vicinity

to make the most of this rare opportunity to serve the Lord Sri

Venkatesha and get His plentiful blessings.

With best regards,

Ramachandra Tammannacharya Gutti.
