Guest guest
Haraye Namah."Tell me your friends, I will tell who you are", goes an English adage rightly pointing at the impact of the company we keep. Let alone the company we keep, even a short spell of accompaniment makes an impact. When we meet a colleague, we spend talking hours on the office work and / or its environment, colleagues etc. When we meet a friend, hours are lost in talking about common friends, recollecting past moments and so on. We chance to sit with acquaintances and near-strangers and spend quite a lot of time discussing Cricket, Politics - local, national and international or even the TV serials and ads. Still worse if we chance to land ourselves up in the company of wrong people - we spend either tempted to join them in drinks, gamble etc or assessing the extent to which each of those has gone bad and worse.Precious time is just lost unawares.Just imagine what happens when we meet a real yogi instead. Every minute of his accompaniment purifies us, lifts us up in the ladder of spirituality. Bhaagavatam says "There is no wonder that the company of nishkinchanaa (the yogis who do not care the worldly aspects even for their minimal sustenance) can take us to the feet of God, for even a few minutes spent with them clears our rusted logic and an improper understanding of God and Divinity". It further says that this life is a waste if we do not meet and stay in the company of mahat, great personalities.Interested if you are, to spend a few minutes every day with the avadhoota Shiromani Vishnuteertharu, take your own time of the day and pay a visit to http://simhageeta.wikidot.com/forum:start. We are not fortunate enough to meet such great personalities in person but they are available to us in the form of their books. Simhageeta trust has been carryng the slokas of Bhaagavata Saaroddhaara with small incremental postings to help us spend a few minutes of every day at the time of our convenience. The mahat samaagama prakaranam has just concluded and the new section mahat seva prasamshaa prakaranam is ready to commence. Come let us add a few minutes everyday to our daily quota reserved for spirituality. Thanks and regardsRavindranath Kadlabaal Add more friends to your messenger and enjoy! Invite them now.
