is prepared by drying banana peal and burning it which turns black(then

it is powdered) and termeric is added to the powderThe coal which is used while u do the pooja that is dhoopaangara for god is used as angara later.Normally one must not remove Angara Akshata once it is applied in a

day. However, due to weatherconditions - sweating/rain - sometimes

we have to wash our face, then we have to apply once again.Sri

Devendra Theertharu, (His Vrundavana is there in Mulabagilu, Narasimha Theertha) was telling - One must not see other's blank head

(i.e, without angara-akshata). If we happen to see - we have to take

bath in whatever dress we are wearing (i..e., sachEta snaana). Angara dharane rOgahara

The preparation of Angara-Akshate, ensures and involves "nitya-pooja" Angara & Akshate both are used on the forehead. In Akshate we have the Sannidhana of Srilakshmi devi whereas in Angara, we have the Sannidhana of Srimannaarayana.In Sumadhwa-Vijaya, there is a reference for Akshate-Angara - When Srimadacharyaru crossed the Ganga River, the Thurushka Raaja came to Srimadacharyaru and asked him as to what is there in his forehead.
