Sec 80G Exemption

Hare SrinivasaSome members have expressed their opinion, that this Sumadhwa Scholarship to come under Sec 80G. In order to get 80G Exemption, it should not be community based. Please note : Our main aim is to enable Madhwa community only. Just for getting 80G exemption, so that we can get more contribution from public, we cannot modify the policy. As such, we will not ask for 80G exemption. Whatever meagre amount may be collected, that only, we will share among Madhwa community. We are not ready to share with other communities.Thanks for your concern.Further, we have modified our Sumadhwa Scholarship Scheme to include

payment for Madhwa Scholars who need funds for their Medical treatment. This we have immediately effected by contributing to Sri Jayatheerthachar, a very good scholar, (He is the shishya of Sri Balagaru Srinivasacharyaru), who recently had given a lecture on "Dashavataara Stuti" in our Mutt. Unfortunately, he met with an accident and he is hospitalised. He got it operated at Bangalore Sarvodaya Hospital in Magadi Road three days back. We are giving him Rs.5000/- for his treatment from the "Sumadhwa Scholarship" Fund.As such, under our Sumadhwa Scholarship we are giving Scholarships/contributions to the following categories :1. Study of Dharmika/Vaidika subjects like Srimannyaayasudha, Sarvamoola,

etc.2. To enable higher studies - for those poor students, who have passed their previous examinations, based on their previous examinations.3. For those who want to learn Vaidika/Dharmika Shastra, we will keep them in our Mutt itself and enable them with regular paata on Sarvamoola, and other paata.4. We will contribute for the treatment of Pandits, in case of exigencies.

We in TMYP tried to get 80-G exemption.

 

But the auditor says that 80-G exemption will not be approved if it is community based.

 

You need to change your byelaws accordingly so that it is not community / caste based.

 

You need to generalise the name of the TRUST.
