   Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha to become a Yati Prayag during the forth coming Chaturmasya—a golden opportunity to earn greater merit and spiritual upliftment.

Dear Reader,

Every one has heard of the mighty river Ganga. The Ganga, as the legend goes, cleanses one of his sins with just one dip in her water. Flowing from the upper Himalayas, the river, due to mountainous terrain branches out into tributaries which, down their course, join each other at different places to become the mighty river at the foot of the Himalayas, once again. These confluences are called Prayags; they are considered as holy teerthas with mystic powers and people bathe in them to get themselves rid of their sins and earn merit.

A similar prayag, a confluence of the “river” of Dwaita philosophy flowing perennially from eons and of one of its tributaries flowing for last seven centuries, represented by the Uttaradi Mutt and Kanayur Mutt respectively would come into being during the forth coming chaturmasya. The High Priests, the Yatis of both mutts, viz., His Holiness, Sri, Sri, 1008 Sri, Satyatma Teertha Swamiji, Uttaradi Mutt and His Holiness, Sri, Sri, 1008 Sri, Vidyavallabh Teertha Swamiji, Kanayur Mutt have graciously consented to make the Satyadhyana Vidyapeetha their temporary dwelling for the observance of the chaturmasya during the current year. With the divine presence of the yatis, the Yati Prayag will turn the Vidyapeetha into a mystic teertha where people could earn merit by their participation or even by just attendance.

With a view to providing the required facilities to the yatis and creating proper atmosphere, the Vidyapeetha has meticulously planned for every thing-from Alpha to Omega. In brief, it is as under;

 It has made elaborate arrangements for the daily routine of the swamijis. The day will start at 6-30 am with a patha by His Holiness Sri Satyatma Teertha Swamiji. It will be followed by bhiksha, padya pooja and mudra dharane by devotees from 8-45 am to 9-30 a.m. His Holiness will then have second bath and perform pooja of Sri. Moola Ram Deva, Sri. Digvijaya Ram Deva, Sri. Sita Devi, Sri Pran Deva and other deities in addition to the pooja of Sri.Venkatesha. Prasada will be served thereafter. In the evening, His Holiness will preside over anuvada by scholars and the day‘s programme will end with His Holiness’ amritopadesha.

As regards creation of proper atmosphere, the Vidyapeetha has planned various programmes. The morning session will have discourses on the Sarva moola Granthas, Sriman Nyaya Sudha by scholars, recitation of all four Vedas and performance of different homas. There will be discourses on the Maha Bharat Tatparya Nirnaya during teertha prasada. The afternoon session from 2-30 p.m. to 5-00 p.m. is allotted to ladies for musical concerts. The evening session from 5-30 p.m. onwards will have vidwat goshthi followed by discourses on the Brahma Sootra Bhashya by Vidwan Vidyasimhacharya. His Holiness Sri Vidyavallabh Teertha Swamiji will be present at all the functions. He will be away from the premises for performance of his usual pooja and during the afternoon session meant for ladies.

The Vidyapeetha has also planned for daily japa of the Gayatri mantra, Krishna mantra etc. It also intends holding Rama mantra japa for all the 24 hours of the day on relay basis. In addition, there will be special programmes on specific days.

A detailed list of programmes is being finalized and will be mailed to the readers and other devotees within the next few days.

Dear Reader, the forth coming Yati Prayag at the Vidyapeetha from the date arrival of the yatis at the Vidyapeetha from 14-07-09 to 04-09-09 is going to be a unique event for one’s spiritual progress. Madhwa’s Teachings, therefore, earnestly appeals to all readers, their families and friends to offer voluntary service to the Vidyapeetha, for there will be a lot of work to do during the period and to offer their mite for the successful completion of the chaturmasya. Otherwise too, they may simply attend the functions and earn great merit.

With best regards,
