Sri H.V.Ranganath who is a retired Mechanical engineer by profession who took up an extraordinary task by editing of Sri Jagananatha Dasara Magnum opus Sri Harikathamurutasara which was written in Bhaminishatpadhi –Sextuplets- style having 3-4 Matra Gana Vibhaga. There are 32 Sandhis.

 

There are many books compiled by many authors but this compilation is different with others available in the market . In every stanza there are six lines. He has meticulously filtered, verified and screened 988 stanzas to exact 98,000 matras( 100 matras per stanza) and arrange them in 3 – 4 matras gana style and it is a excellent work and this will be remain one of the historic works in the Kannada literature. The author had spent four and half years on this work.

 

The author is blessed by Shri Satyatma Teertha Swamiji , of Shri Uttaradimath and Shri Suvidyendendra Teertha swamiji. In their message this book will be great help for the beginners who wants to peruse the study of SriHarikathamurutas ara. It is a commendable work is done by Sri H.V.Ranganath.

 

Madhwa Scholars like Prof. K.T.Pandurangi, Malagi Sri Jayathherthacharya, Dr. Ananda Thirtha Naga Sampige , Sri Haridasa Bhat, Dr H.S.Sathynarayana char, Sri Arallu Malige Parthasarathi and Dr N.G.Raghu Mohan who is the member of the Karnataka Haridasa Scientific Research Association appreciated the author for his magnificent work.

 

For this work the author took guidance from Sri Vidwan B. Sathynarayana charya .. They worked for Six months before that the author spent 4 years working on this research work. He also took the guidance from Prof G. Venkatha Subbaiah for the Chandasu( meter) who is the author for the Kannada dictionary.

 

Another highlight of this book you can get full audio of 32 Sandhis rendered by (Anusandhana poorvaka Parayana) the author himself .. The length of the audio is 5 hrs 45 minutes.

 

Another artist by name Vidushi Smt Kamala Sreenivasa also rendered the same thing in different Ragas. The length of this audio about 8 hours . Since 1996 the author is behind the Sri Harikathamurutasara still he is working on this Magnum opus. At present he has brought out a popular edition of the text in 4 lines for easy rendering of stanzas .

 

There are few souls like Sri H.V.Ranganatha who are working as a honey bees for gathering the nectar of our Sri Madhwacharya philosophy. He should be patted for this tremendous work which flows like a Ganges . He is very generous that he distributed audio cassettes free of cost to the Bhanjana Mandalis in the beginning days. For doing this work his wife has supported in this great endeavor and she should be congratulated for her husband’s contribution to the whole Madhwa community. While doing this work he never lost his temperament and he did with patiently if he could not finish the job on a particular day he is

used to continue for the next day and thinking that it a Lord ‘s decision.

 

At the end of the book he has given beautiful sketches about the hidden meaning of the Sri Harikathamurutasara .

 

I think Sri HariVayu Gurugalu are behind the author to bring this book before us. There a quite a few people DTP operators like Sri Seetharam, Murali,Janaradana Skanda and Smt Nagalatha is good. The Sanskrit DTP work was done by Sri Subbanna ..
