Guest guest
1st September, TUESDAY DWADASHYAAMYAM Please add this also under 1st sept Tuesday, Dwadashi Day as the aradahana fall on Dwadashi day. Sri Surapura Ananda Dasara Punya Dina; (1780) Original name Ananda.-Born in Cheekalaparavi- came to Surapura a village near Raichur- had his early and advance education under eminent scholars. He was an extrodinary scholar in sangeetha vidya though he was patronized by royalty he had Shrisha dasa as his preceptor His Guru Gururajacharya was responsible for his education, in Nyaya, vedha, vyakaraNa, , sachaasra vidhya, dhivya Gayana Vidhya. He went to Tanjore and won laurels from Sundaram subbaiayya and also from Mysore VeeNa samabshivayya and Mysore Sadashivarao.. He had the false impression that performing Harikeerthana was meant exclusively for those for earning bread. The Surapura Raja appointed him as Asthana Vidwan. Later on the Raja wanted him to teach Music/ dance to the palace NaRthakees, Devadaasi’s . Once he happened to hear the Hari keerthana of Shreesa vitala Daasappa Dasa, a shishya of the great Sri Jagannatha dasa. Listening to the wordings and conversation of Bheema. some inherent power entered his mind and standing in his place, he composed a song and sang instantly. People were taken aback. He was moved very much after listening to the Pravacahana. He realised that he had the bad notion that “Harikeerthana was for Bhagna Manoratha’s Bhikashaavruththi” He changed his attitude towards Haridasas. Giving up worldly pleasure he became a Haridasa securing the ankitha "Shri Kamalesha Vittal". His krithis are very popular by their literary and philosophical values. He sought for Ankitha and had as “ Kamalesha Vittala” .When he was 53 yr. old, he lost all his wealth due to change in the kingship and he thought God alone would help at all times and He worshipped goddesses Mahalakshmi. Kolhapur Lakshmi asked him to come to Kolhapur. He went there and sang before the deity :KaruNadhi KaNNU Thereye, Baaramma Siriye “ in Raga Dhanaashri. She gave Darshan to him. Chatrapathi Maharaja who happened to come at that time heard his song and honoured him. Anandadasa attributed all this as Lakshmi kataaksha. He composed the keerthana “ Rama Samudrana Kumari Ninnaya Samanararamma. “ see attachment 2nd song. (There is yet another song by Guru Shesha vittala also starting with the same words) He came to Surupura which was in the reins of Britishers. He wanted to attend Sri Raghavendra swamt’s Aradhana and had to cross the Thungabhadra in floods. Somebody saved him somehow. When he was at the doorstep of the mutt, Ibarampur Sri “Appavaru “ asked him whether Raghavendra saved him from the clutches of the flood. He instantly composed the Keerthana “ Sri Raghavendra rayara PadaamBhuka gaLa AraaDhakara Kondaadiri “ He composed ‘ SharaNara surabhOja Gururaja ‘(Attachment-3rd song ) in Behag Raga on Sri Raghavendra which was the introductory keertana sung by Harikatharatnam Sri T K Venugopaladasaru of Mysore in all his Harikathas. . Also he composed another Keertana on Sri Raghavendra ‘ Karedare Barabaarade’(Attachment-I song -Courtesy-Dvaita org,) set to Swayam sambhodini Raga sung by Bombay sisters. The incarnation of Vishnu as Krishna the cowherd prince, and the action-filled life that he led, have been the subject of innumerable works. The Srimad Bhagavatam is considered the most authoritative source on the life and exploits of Krishna. ‘KanDu Dhanyanaade uDipi KrishNana KaNNAre naanu’ in Behag Raaga sung by Amrita Murali in her album ‘KrishNAnubhava’ He lived for 60 years and while singing before Sri Gopala krishna in Raaga Behag, “ Beduvudhenu,| Bhava Vimochana”, he left this world. “ Anayaasena MaraNam vinadhaithyena Jeevanam| AnaaraaDhitha Govindha CharaNyosya Bhayamkutha” we would see that the above verdict of Sashchaasra is true in the life of Ananda daasaru.
