Guest guest
Shri Hari bhaktare, Thank you very much for registering and providing us to plan the program in a better way. If you are a first time visitor or have not attended in the last couple of years here are some tips http://www.madhva.org/retreat/?page_id=7 1. Motel/Hotels: If you prefer to stay in a nearby hotel and participate in the retreat, you can do so. Please book your hotel room IMMEDIATELY. According to Sri Janardhan, The Days Inn motel is Sold Out. There are a couple of families staying Motel8 which is just a block away from Days Inn (about $54 per night for 2 double beds - Non Smoking per night) A second back-up in case Motel8 is Sold Out, please try - Holiday Inn, few blocks away, which is about $30 more than Motel8. Please book IMMEDIATELY if you want to stay in a Hotel/Motel 2. Camp Site: If you plan to stay in the Campsite, its a great experience. Since the campsite provides basic rustic amenities - some tips for you: If you are first time visitor, PLEASE DO NOT PLAN TO ARRIVE AFTER DARK. CELL Phones may not work in the State Park due to poor coverage. How to reach: This link provides you step by step directions to reach the camp site http://www.madhva.org/retreat/?page_id=16 If you are lost, get directions and reach the "PARK OFFICE" There please ask for "Organized Group Cabins #5" Always keep a copy of the map and directions handy (http://www.madhva.org/retreat/?page_id=16) Weather Weekend Weather is sunny but on the cooler side. Night times get to high 40s and mid 50s. Bring some warm clothing and comforters. If you have elderly people with you or folks visiting from India, suggest getting a portable room heater along with you. Sleeping Bring comfortable sleeping bags and comforters The campsite provides metal cots with springs. YOU CANNOT put sleeping bags directly. We request you to bring many cardboard boxes that can be put on the metal cots and on top of it you can put your sleeping bag Alternately you can move the cots to the slide and use the floor. The cardboards are useful even on the floor Other items: Bring your regular first aid kit If you are allergic to dust, insects, bees, etc - have appropriate medication ready Bring a flash light or two Toiletries kit Anything else to make yourselves comfortable
