Guest guest Posted October 5, 2009 Report Share Posted October 5, 2009 Dear Devotees of Guru RAghavendra, Here is the latest from Mantralayam, based on my conversation with Vittal Joshi Avaru: 1) Still there is no power at Mantralayam, SRS Matha has hired 10 KVA Generators to power the SRS MATHA and help with clean up operations. The power is also fed to Srinivas Devaru temple where clean up efforts are taking place as well. 2) There was rumor in Mantralayam spread by some people that Thunghabadra Dam was breached and were announced in Village of Mantralayam causing panic through Loudspeakers. After calling the concerned government officials it was found out that there was no intention of opening the dam gates at all and it was an Rumor. Suyameendra achar (poorashrama son of Swamiji) shouted in the loudspeaker and made sure the crowd knew the truth as there was fear this panic could cause stampede. 3) Still it would take days for power to be restored at Mantralayam. 4) Sri Suyameendra Achar (Purvasharma son of Swamiji) is in Mantralayam overseeing relief operations. Sri Vittal Joshi avaru is just doing Seve from his part to support the efforts of the SRS MUTT. No one is authorized to collect funds on Behalf of SRSMUTT, Very soon we will be releasing the details where money needs to be sent for this purpose.
