As the media reports start pouring out from various corners of the flood affected areas, the huge damage caused by the natural calamity is getting more and more clarified. The loss of houses is in lakhs and people orphaned are in crores. The relief work is really a Herculean task and massive resources are needed to bring the life to normal in those affected area. Hence there is a urgent need to channelize all the resources and work together to provide food and shelter to all those victims.

So a 'padayatra' to drive the fund collection is being planned on this weekend. Tentatively it would be on Saturday from 3:00pm to 6:00 pm in and around Basavanagudi / Gandhi Bazar area. Shri Pejavara swamiji, who has been working since several decades for sheltering the victims in all such calamities, would be leading the padayatra. It is a golden opportunity for all for "Janatha Janardhana seva". All of you are cordially invited to participate in this 'padayatra' and offer your 'aLilu seva".

 

You may help us in the following way.

1) Please pass on this message to one and all and let volunteers come from all corners.( Please be noted that this is a drive concerned to every one and not limited to one particular sect / caste.) Everyone who is ready to work for the cause of humanity is heartily welcome to this.

2) A big team of volunteers is needed to distribute pamphlets, to erect the hoarding / banners at different locations, to organize the padayatra peacefully, to collect the materials from the donors, to transport the materials to the central location and to store them properly, to control the people and traffic, to collect the items from the shops, stores, hotels, Bazars etc and handle them professionally.

3) Volunteers are also needed to transporting the items to the identified place and distribute them properly and systematically to the needy people.

4) You can help us as volunteers, donors, contributors or in any other way you feel good to be on this occasion.

 

Let every one participate in this massive effort as much as possible and strengthen the hands for the noble cause. Your encouragement and support would surely bring more energy and enthusiasm and inspire the volunteers. Let us all together try bring smiles on those affected people. Following is the list of items / activities for the padayatra. Please see how best you can help us by selecting as much as possible from the list.

- Small and medium sized (12 inch+ cubicle size) boxes : 10 to 20 numbers

 

- Containers of plastic, aluminum, hard paper, thick polythene (of small, medium and big sized drums, boxes in nature) to collect provisions like rice, dal, oil etc.. and also clothes

- Small hand mikes to announce

- Need car's/luggage autos/auto rikshas of volunteers to participate in pAdayatre to caary items

- Need to sponsor for banners/slogans (related to samAja sEve, dInara seve, nAnA janara sEve); You can contribute to the MYP account;

- If you can write/design banners/slogans, please send a mail and talk to the number given below

- Drawing papers and markers of all colours - 50 quantity

- If you have a digital printer/plotter or know some one, you can get the slogans/banners printed.. we will give you the softcopy/material to be printed.. please mention this as part of subject of your mail..

- You may take the print of pamphlet and put in all maTha's, temples in and around you and announce during the lunch/TeerthprasAd time and pravachana time..

- You can contribute to the expenses (mentioned above) to make this pAdayatre a grand success..

- Bring your kids to hold small containers to make a effective appeal and generate more funds to victims
