Dear devotees of Lord Krishna,

I was very fortunate to visit Udupi a few days ago and during my visit I

witnessed a significant progress of the Mega-projects of Paryaya Sri Puthige Sri

Krishna Matha under the daring & visionary leadership of his holiness Sri

Sugunendratheertha Swamiji. Paryaya Puthige Matha's projects included projects

that are focused on serving society's poor and needy, cleaning and beautifying

Udupi especially the temple surroundings and to Krishna an offering of

Navarathna Ratha – first of its kind in the world.

While almost all of the projects have been successfully completed with the

blessings of the Lord, a lot of final planning activities have begun for the

mega projects – Annabrahma and Navarathna Ratha. The current paryaya has just

started its final quarter and any time soon Sri Sugunendratheertha swamiji will

offer these to Lord Krishna.

Annadana through Annabrahma: Annadana the most sacred dana to please Annabrahma

Krishna at Udupi, a kshetra that has been feeding masses everyday ever since

Krishna came here more than 8 centuries ago. Currently, there is a need to serve

5000 to 50000 devotees per day and this has caused an infrastructure bottleneck.

His holiness is solving this major issue by building a modern dining facility

that can feed around 1000 devotees at a time. This dining hall which is

estimated to be around 3.5 crores is about to complete.

It is the fond desire of his holiness to provide opportunities for as many

devotees as possible to attain this Annadaana Phala in a Kshetra like Udupi and

please Lord Krishna – Annasya kshudhitam paatram. To make this affordable to

many devotees, the sevas associated with this construction are made available

starting from as little as the cost of 1 square foot (Rs 2500) to Rs. 25 Lakhs.

Navarathna Ratha – Not long ago his holiness Sri Sugunendratheertha's vidya guru

his holiness late Sri Vidyamaanya theertha offered a golden ratha to Krishna –

who is known as utsava Brahma because of his extreme fondness to festivals. Now,

to further please his vidya guru amthargatha Sri Madhvamthargatha Sri Krishna,

his holiness has ambitioned to offer a kind of Ratha that was never before done

on this earth. A team of experts from all over India is building a beautiful

Navarathna Ratha right in Udupi. To provide a rare opportunity for devotees to

offer a Navarathna Ratha Seva to Lord Krishna, the Matha has kept the donation

levels as low as the cost of installing a gem (Rs. 5000) to a maximum of

Shikhara seva that costs 25 Lakhs.

Checks can be sent in favor of Sri Krishna Seva Samiti and sent to Sri Puthige

Shreekrishna Matha, Car Street, Udupi, Karnataka 576101, India.

For the dining hall donations, the donor names are engraved as well.

Namaskara,

PS: Although I had drafted this e-mail several days ago, I held it back as I

was very sensitive to send this one out at a time every one is trying to tackle

the flood damages across south India. Later, I realized that post this quarter

devotees may miss a golden opportunity to serve the Lord with rare projects.

Therefore, I've made a decision to at least share the information so that

affordable devotees can still utilize this opportunity.
