A great scholar.Looked after Samsthana for 10 years worshipping Gopala Krishna devaru.It was the time when the Muslims used to trouble Hindus. Once he took all “Devara Pooja Pettige” and drowned himself in the KAVERI and swam for 30 miles deep inside the river to a safer place. Once again the Muslim warriors attacked him. He offered prayer to lord Narasimha. He was called “ Annadaanam Swaami, Sabhaa Swamy” [page 189, Sri Raghavendra Vijaya Sri Belur Keshava das First Edn, 1929, Rev.Edn 1980]ii) The Manchalam temple was renovated during his time.iii) The Swamiji used to stand before Rayar Brindavanam and offer prayer. Tears rolled off from his eyes, as he was grossly absorbed in Bhakthi Bhava and devotion. Bhakths of yesteryears who are still alive say that they have witnessed this scene.iv) Rayara aradhanaRayara Aradhana that was restricted to 3 days was extended to 7 days,v) Here, Sri Sri Sushameendra theertha in his poorvashram days was working as a staff of the Mutt. vi) He was instrumental in establishing the Subbarayanakere Mutt at Mysore. In those days Mrittika Brindavan branches were rare and with great difficulty they were approved by the PeeTadipati. Even in 1969 Sri sujayeendra tirtha had two minds to grant mrittike to my brother for the establishment of Rayar Mutt at Jayanagar IV T Block. He took assurance from my brother, parents. Uncles and Samithi Members that they would run efficiently and effectively the Jayanagar IV T Block Rayar Mutt. One end of Subbarajyanakere corner, opposite Anatalaya, opposite to United Printers, had an old temple of Rama which was not being used for many yers. My mother requested her uncle Mysore Bank Manager Raghavenvendra Rao ( poorvashram co-brother of Sri suyameendra tirtharu) for establishing a Mutt at Mysore as she was finding difficult to go to seetapati agarahara, Chamaraja pet. Raja S Gururajachar, Dr H K Vedavyasachar, Y K Ramachanadra Rao and some others were thinking of a Rayar Mutt. In about a year or so the Mutt came into existence and one coul d see how manificient the mutt stands to dat at Narayanashastry Road.
