Discourses on Shrimad Bhagawat by Vidwan Vidyasimhacharya and other scholars-

Auspicious beginning for New Year.

Dear Reader,

New Year 2010 is round the corner. Peace-loving people all over the world hope, like they do at the end of every year, that bells would hear Lord Tennyson’s call for long lasting peace in the world and Providence would allow the New Year to dawn with the promise to fulfil the poet’s dream of peace and harmony that has eluded mankind for centuries, if not aeons.

However, peace and harmony, it is proved, spring from the bosom of man and not pour in from the heavens. It is only the satvika souls that are blessed with them by the Lord of the Universe. Man reaches that tranquil stage after spending years listening to holy scriptures, meditating on them and after fighting a prolonged battle with the enemies within. And Shrimad Bhagawat provides an easy access to harmony and peace of mind.

Bhagawan Vedavyasa wrote the holy epic, the magnum opus, to enable everyone to attend his final goal-release from the cycle of birth and death and the ultimate peace! Through Shrimad Bhagawat, he threw open the portals to the Kingdom of God for all. Listening to the Bhagawat even once, it is said, takes one nearer to the Lord’s Abode.

Therefore, Vidwan Vidyasimhacharya has graciously agreed to hold Bhagawat Saptah with the help of other scholars in the coming year, beginning with discourses from 5-01-2010 to 10-01-2010 between 6.30pm and 8.30 pm at Jogeshwari at the following venue:

604, Shri Niketan (Residence of Smt. Sumitra Rao)

Hindu Friends’ Society Road,

Above Arihant Medicals,

Opp. Anjuman-E-Islam College,

Jogeshwari (East),

Mumbai – 400060.

Tel: Land-line: 28246876

Cell No.:  9821541108

The venue is just two minutes’ walk from Jogeshwari Station (East).

On this occasion, Madhwa’s Teachings wishes all its readers a very happy and prosperous New Year, a year of peace, progress and fulfilment, and appeals to the readers staying in western suburbs of Mumbai to attend the discourses for spiritual uplift and advancement towards the Kingdom of God.

With regards,

Ramachandra Tammannacharya Gutti
